Kon poured on the speed as he flew through downtown Metropolis. He could hear the windows rattle as he flew past, but he didn't care. His eyes were locked on the Lexcorp building. He flew up to the top floor and crashed through the widow.
“Lex!” Kon yelled as glass rained down around him. “Lex! Where the hell are you!”
He could hear Luther before the man emerged from a room off to his right. “And what do I owe for this visit?” he asked calmly as he made his way to his desk as if his office wasn't now covered with broken glass.
Kon glared at Luther, “It's Tim. . . the pregnancy . . . .” because he knows that Luthor had to know all about the magic blast that lead to Tim getting pregnant with his child. “The League's done all they can, but they're still saying that Tim has an eighty percent chance of dying during the birth.”
“And what does that have to do with me?” Luthor asked coolly.
“I want you to help him.”
Luthor threw his head back and laughed loudly His eyes crinkled up and he put a hand on his stomach as he laughed. Kon snarled and pounded on the desk and barely pulled back from breaking it. “You can save him!”
“Why should I?” Luthor all but snarled, all evidence of laughter gone.
“Well the humane answer is that it's the right thing to do, but we both know that's a joke right there. I'm not even going to argue the fact that it's the health of your grandchild we're talking about. Instead I'll just focus on the only thing that really matters to you. Your ego. I know you can't walk away from the chance of proving yourself superior to Superman. He can't save him, but you can, and you can't walk away from that!”
“The Alien has failed rather spectacularly on this one. Can't even save his best friend's son's life. It would be entertaining to rub it in his face,” Luthor smiled darkly. “But he isn't the only one who failed Timothy now is he Kon-El?”
Kon looks at Luthor in disgust, “Stop it. Just - just stop it! Just because in your warped, sick mind you think you had something with Tim and that he actually cares about you, doesn't mean that's real.”
“I offered him the world and he chose you,” Luthor growled out as he stood and leaned over the desk to glare at Kon, then let a slow evil smile spread across Luthor's face. “And look what happened to him because of that choice.”
Kon glared back and for a moment everything had a hue of red to it. He pushed down his anger and his own guilt away and grounded out, “Will you help him or not?”

It was dark by the time Kon returned to the penthouse that he and Tim were living in. He landed softly on the balcony and quietly slipped in. and headed toward the bedroom.
“Kon?”
He paused as he looked over his shoulder and saw Kara unfolding herself from the armchair she was sitting in.
“Is Tim awake?” He asked softly motioning to the closed bedroom door.
“No. Dr. Mid-Nite was here and gave him something to help him sleep,” Kara said.
“Gave him something . . . ?” Kon said concern.
“Nothing that'll hurt him or the baby,” Kara reassured. “Just something to help him relax and get some sleep. His blood pressure was high again.” Kara said as she looked at her cousin in concern.
“Anyone ask where I was?” Kon asked.
“Dick did. Said you had something to do at Titan's Tower,” Kara said as she laid a hand on Kon's arm. “So . . . Is he going to help?”
“Yeah he is,” Kon said miserably. His shoulders slumped in defeat.
“I don't like this” Kara said shaking her head. “We can't trust him and letting him get close to Tim given everything . . . “
“You think I like this idea? He's the only option we have left! Because for Tim I'd do anything! Even ask Lex for help,” Kon said misery combining with anger.
“Oh Kon,” Kara sighed as she pulled him into a hug.
Kon hugged Kara close, “I know this is crazy. I know Clark will be pissed when he finds out. I know I can't trust Lex. But this is Tim we're talking about and our child. We've been through to much together and I'm not losing them. I've got to many plans that I haven't gotten to do with him, to many places we haven't been to yet, to many adventures to have. There just hasn't been enough times for me to say how much I love him..”
Kara nodded against Kon's shoulder, holding her cousin tighter for a moment before letting go. “You should go and check on him,”
Kon nodded and headed back to the bedroom. The curtains were closed and the lights had been dimmed. Krypto laid curled up on the bed next to the sleeping Tim. Tim was propped up a little by pillows and covered in a light blanket. His swollen belly prominent underneath it.
Krypto whined softly, raised his head, sat up to lick Kon's cheek in greeting as his master sat down on the bed.
Kon scratched behind his dog's ear. “Good boy Krypto. Took good care of Tim didn't you?”
Krypto wagged his tail and hopped off the bed so Kon could cuddle up with Tim. Kon smiled as the canine slipped out of the door, probably in search of Kara and a treat, and turned his attention to his lover. Kon pushed back the bangs from Tim's eyes and trialed his fingers lightly over his cheek bones and cupped Tim's cheek. “You never look this relaxed when you're awake ya know? You'd hate it.” Kon chuckled softly.
He took one of Tim's hands in his other, threading their fingers together. In his mind's eye Kon saw Tim holding a small child that was a perfect combination of them both and Kon knew that any thing he could do was worth it. Even dealing with Luthor.
Kon let his TTK wander over Tim as he laid his head on Tim's chest listening to his heartbeat. “I love you,'” he whispered.
