These foolish things remind me of you

Apparently there's a meme going round about icons. I completely missed it until d_floorlandmine posted it the other day, but it involves someone picking out a few of your icons and you wibbling about them.

The rules are as follows:

1. Reply to this post with "ohh! shiny" and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

The icons picked for me by d_floorlandmine are behind the cut.

A pink fairy armadillo. No really, it's a real thing, feel free to google it. Looks rather like an armoured hamster. The icon was done by tregenza during his 'make some art' phase. I use this as my default icon.

This is me some years ago, in the garden, doing a kung fu (unless it was T'ai Chi) broadsword set. I can't remember any of it now, but it was very cool. This doesn't get much use as an icon any more, but there are occasions when it seems the most relevant one.

False Mirror, by Rene Magritte. One of my favourite artists. This actually isn't my absolute favourite of his*, but it's the one that makes the best icon. Tends to get used when I'm being introspective or sounding like a Radio 4 afternoon play.

*It's debatable which one is, but it's probably one of the Empire Of Lights ones (the one in Brussels, which I did actually get to see in person a few years ago. And it was fab). Doesn't make such a good icon though.

Some rowan berries at night. Taken in Sainsbury's car park a good few years ago, when I'd just got a phone with a camera on it (now long defunct) and worked out it had a 'night time' setting. It's not a brilliant photo but I rather liked it, so it got iconised. Mostly gets used for actual creative writing, something I rarely do so it doesn't get used a lot.

Me doing the Great Gorilla Run a few years ago. It's an annual 7km sponsored run around London, with all the participants dressed as gorillas. If anyone's thinking of doing a sponsored run in aid of a worthy cause, I can highly recommend it as being great fun. Though you do end up soaked in sweat from having run/walked 7km in a furry nylon suit. The picture was taken by malwen and is of me crossing the finish line. I use it to indicate "huzzah!" and such sentiments.

Yeah, that's me. On stage, halfway through a burlesque routine to 'Mama' from Chicago. Much fun. I use this icon whenever I think it's appropriate, or more likely, inappropriate.
