Heart of Gold
So I was talking to one of the guys in IT, because I'm trying to make sure that I have everything squared away for my move over the next couple of days. So my PC still hasn't shown up yet, so IT guy calls up his contact at DELL to see what's going on. Looks like my PC didn't actually make it out of the quote stage... so here I am: 2 days from being officially newly titled, and no PC for me to work on. It's going to get overnighted, and his contact said that she would see what she could do to get it out today for tomorrow, but that's still going to be at least a day before I can work on it... granted I'm gone for a week, but IT's supposed to re-image my workstation in the mean-time... This could all get really, really messy. Although on the plus side my whole "My Documents" folder is only 5 GB (it was 12 until I noticed that I still had an old "Client_dbs" folder that I couldn't remember when I last looked at it...), and that will eaisily fit on my network storage area....
The funny part is that he knows I'll be out of the office next week, so it's not a HUGE deal that I don't have a PC on Friday, but he was more pissed off at DELL because he was sure that he orded the PC, and they couldn't find anything. So yeah...
