Unsurprisingly I’ve fallen behind already in the Snowflake challenge. Here’s me catching up with days 3, 4 and 5.
Day 3
In your own space, talk about your creative process - from what inspires you to what motivates you to how you manage to break through blocks. Does your process change depending on the type of creating you're doing? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I don’t really know… I never considered myself a very creative person. I’ve embraced it as I’ve gotten older and tried both writing fanfic, a touch of icon-ing, photography, and creating in the kitchen. I’d say out of necessity more than anything else that both are driven by the amount of time I have. I need to be on the less stressed side of the meter to be creative. Which means writing on a deadline freaks me out (and explains why I very rarely participate in fests.)
Day 4
Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"
It doesn't have to be anything complex - it can be feedback for a fanwork or discussing something you might have in common or even simply admiring their icon. The point is to reach out to someone you normally wouldn't and connect with them, even if it's only for the briefest moment.
I can handle that! Fanfic review left for a new-to-me author!
Day 5
In your own space, talk about your fannish origin story. How did you come to fandom, why did you choose your fannish name, do you have more than one secret identity? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I’ve written about getting into HP generally
before in a previous meme, but in a nutshell,
missile_envy got me into fandom by thrusting the books at me and then, when I had devoured those, telling me to read
madlori’s
Paradigm Of Uncertainty. And that’s all I needed.
My name is the name of my character that I play in Diablo. Darth to be a little evil and star wars-y. And Kittius because my RL nickname is “kitty” and, well, if I’m embracing the Sith, Kittius sounds pretty cool. (And if you fast forward to when they did the SW Myers-Briggs chart, my personality does come up as Palpatine, so it seems to fit.)
