welcome new friends!
I’m doing a few friending memes because I need a new infusion and reason to come to LJ more often. So *waves hi to new friends*
Here’s what you need to know about me:
I have every intention of posting on here more often. I say this all the time. It rarely happens. I really hope this time it sticks, but well… let’s just plan on me randomly coming and posting a lot and then seemingly disappear for a while.
I am obsessed with Harry Potter fanfiction. But more and more I’m enjoying reading fic in the other fandoms I have fell into over the years (in no order): Doctor Who, Torchwood, MI-5, Veronica Mars, Trek - reboot, Bend it Like Beckham (yes, really), Center Stage, Star Wars, Firefly, Devil Wears Prada, Avengers, etc…
I’ve written a few short fics and am in the process of about three longer fics. (That will probably never get finished- two were started before DH came out!) I write WOTD drabbles whenever I have the chance, which hasn’t been often lately.
I try to limit my sports talk on here, but I’m a huge fan and sometimes can’t resist the urge to sound off. I love college football, and I’m both a Michigan and Notre Dame fan. I know…. It doesn’t make any sense. I probably know the most about basketball, which I played for several years. (I've also played competitive badminton, soccer and softball -- and semi-competitive flag football and hockey.) I play nothing right now because I’ve become quite lazy and addicted to the sci-fi. I’m a huge Buffalo sports fan, so both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres get attention. I also adore soccer and have been talking about it more and more… so if you really hate Chelsea FC, this probably isn’t a good time to watch my journal.
As for education - I have a master's in International Politics; an undergraduate degree double majoring in history and political science with a minor in gender studies; and have had a Fulbright research fellowship. I still have no idea what I want to do with my life when I grow up but in the meantime slave away for the government in a pretty cool job that most days keeps me happy.
I love reading. I don’t often post book reviews on here anymore, I have another journal for that.
I love to drink tea, diet Pepsi & wine (not all at once).
I'm an INTJ, Virgo, snake and Gryffindor. I thrive on organization and order. I fit pretty well in all the descriptions of what I’m supposed to be.
I’m originally from Buffalo and now live in Washington DC. I love both cities and talk about them often! I did stints living outside of Chicago and in Edmonton too. (Love those areas too…)
