I just thought I'd write a little about one of those little things in life which makes a big difference (after reading about it in East of Eden and finally realising where the book gets its name from).
Anyway, so in the bible in genesis Adam's son Cain kills his brother because the evil inside him which he doesn't fight lets him become jeleaus- perhaps what god was testing when he said he wasn't happy with Cain's sacrifice.
Now God had said to Cain 'do thou', which is an order to man to fight evil, which doesnt seem quite right whether it be written be god or a wiseman because it is not a religiuos statement as such, man wasn't created to fight evil.
In the king james version god said 'thou shalt', which infers god is making a promise that man will fight evil, whish isn't probable because we don't.
But in the actual translation, God says 'thou mayest' which makes alot more sense, it is mans choice to fight evil, or not, and that is what gives men power of mind- the choice whether it be a good thing or bad thing.
