SNL's new low
I was just watching SNL, and they did a sketch of an infomercial selling some set of tapes one could watch in order to learn to save his or her marriage. The tapes were made by a Doctor Bitchslap, called the Bitchslap Method. At first, I thought it would be like the Delicious Dish, hinting at something while talking about something completely different, but it wasn't. The method mentioned in this infomercial literally was to hit one's spouse whenever anything went wrong. Now, you guys know that I'm not easily offended. I'll laugh at almost anything, but not domestic abuse. It would be bad enough if the sketch had hinted at such abuse, but to outright advocate it as a positive relational tool? I was disgusted! Is this what America finds funny? Why not make jokes about rape and school shootings while we're at it, hmm? Are there no lines anymore? Sorry, but I just can't believe what I saw. It literally disgusts me that someone would put that on the air.
