Anime MidAtlantic and job woes...

Well ... that kinda sucked a nut. Seriously, I don't know if its because I hate to travel or if it was just the disappointing vendor turnout, but that really wasn't a much fun as I'd hoped.
I did score some cool stuff...new doujinshis, the next installment of Incubus, a new Trigun shirt, a Roy Mustang costume. Plus some stuff for John and Rodney (my dollfies). Nekocon is still the best con I've been to - hands down.
I went to the writing panel - it was a bunch of stuff I'd already gleaned from various sources. Plus the lecturer was a bit anti-fanfic, not cool.
I saw the same vendor that I always hit at Neko, plus I got a sweet FMA costume to wear at Neko.
I did end up having to call out sick from work on the second day of the con, I put in for the time off and didn't get it. So of course I ended up with a real migraine, only fair since I called out with a fake one.
JP came up for the second day and hung out with me. That was pretty cool, since I had my sis and her bf for company the other 2 days. We had a good time and he picked up some pretty nice stuff for his wife, so it was a win-win.
I did have a few words with a guy that took exception to my 'yaoi is my anti-drug' shirt. I started off willing to talk to him when he asked me why I liked it. However, that convo quickly devolved into an 'all yaoi and yuri is wrong, you should only be into straight hentai' lecture. So I blew him off and kept on. In fact I bought an extra yaoi shirt in his honor and would have bought some yuri too, if I had found any I liked. ;)
My sis' bf pointed out that any straight guy that's comfortable with his own sexuality wouldn't feel the need to diss other's reading/viewing habits so loudly and publicly. lol.
Needless to say, I won't be hitting that con next year. I think I'll stick to Neko and Marscon. Neko - because its full of fun and Marscon - because its small and I know nearly everyone there.

Unfortunately, I think I might be in the market for a new job. Not just because of the con, although it didn't help. I've got a bad history with calling out due to migraines - all true. I do actually get really bad migraines and have only recently gotten the right medication for them due to insurance issues. Plus I'm just not that happy with the whole getting yelled at by end (l)users about our product. It doesn't help the headaches at all. :(
I'm looking for a tech writing or documentation type job. I used to do that and loved it. I have a degree and a bunch of certifications. I live in the VA area. If anyone in lj-land knows of a job that requires a bunch of tedious data entry or documentation and little to no end user contact, please pass it on.
