The Story )
I kind of felt really sad for Jeong Jeong in the deserter, I mean... not over the fact he was a firebender or even that he WAS probably despised by so many of his own nation but that fact he was so full of self-loathing and angst over a technical gift, something which is naturally a part of him. I mean... that's just so awful. I mean didn't Katara say that in 'imprisoned' when they talked about Haru not earth bending? Not exactly the same thing, but close. It's not really a curse Jeong Jeong! It's power, and like all power you've got be careful with it. And yeah, respect it. I think with this new ability, Zuko could show him a thing or two about fire bending. Would be good- it would show just like in real life, the young sometimes have things they can teach the older generation, just like in FBM we got them learning the old ways. Or heck the younger generation ebing 'more in tune' with the true ways. (Man, wonder what HIS reaction would be to the news of healing fire and someone seriously needs that guy to meet the Sun Warriors or something on the show.)
True, Fire is the one of the elements most likely to go out of control, and Jeong-Jeong had a point there, but it doesn't mean you should hate it or hate yourself.

Funny how you should bring up Jeong Jeong. I do have a chapter coming in his POV, dealing with White Fire.
