Graduation Day

Feb 16, 2006 15:04

My older sister graduated from senior high today. The Finnish schools have certain traditions for the day when the "abiturients" get out of school. The abiturients, abis for short, dress up and perform a show i the school auditorium. This show usually includes a short movie that has been filmed and written by the abis.

After the show the abis go from class to class to hand out candy, and makeovers. Yeah, they paint your face with lipstick, usually writing "ABI" or drawing a heart. My sister's friends bursted in during my Finnish class and shot water at me until my face was soaking. Yes, the abis are allowed to do this. They are even allowed to ducktape people on desks. I even saw someone who's wrist had been taped to his knee.

My sister's friends painted my face with bright pink lipstick, because the color suited me better than dark red. Everyone complimented on the color. I was even allowed to decide what they would paint on my forehead. I asked for a star. No one else got a star. XD And then they poured a pile of candy on my desk for being such a good girl.

I'm pretty exhausted and I have to got to a consert later tonight, but I'm sure I'll manage.
