Just saw The Core on DVD, and man, does this movie suck.
Mainly it sucks based on its' preposterousness. Physics are mostly ignored or made up, and it doesn't even look plausible like on Star Trek, either. The rest of it sucks because it's a shoddy, forgettable B-Movie with a stupid premise, laughable characters and impossible scenarios. (Such as the ending, where the tale of the brave heroes who saved the Earth's core by setting off nuclear shockwaves is spread to the world through an Internet café by a l33t hax0r and ends up on the front pages of every periodical on the planet within a day.)
Maybe it would have worked if this movie were a farce, but it takes itself way too seriously, which is the final blow of suckitude.
Don't see this one, don't rent it, and above all, do not buy it.
