Oh WOW! That was lovely. Very evocative, and a stunning picture of who I feel Narcissa to be. Very well done Darsy!

Thank you! It just about wrote itself, so I'm glad it touches base with someone other than just me!

I'm so glad you liked it! I was fussing because it was far less romantic than I wanted to write, but sometimes we can't control it, hehe.

Wow Darsy - This is absolutely wonderful. That is exactly who I see Narcissa as and the triumph at the end and her absolutely knowing that he was going to lose. That is just incredible. You have struck exactly how I see her even though we actually know very little about her from canon outside of her consuming love of her son and his safety. Thank you for writing!

Thank you! I have only ever written one other Lucius/Narcissa and... I have to tell you, I started writing this and I just got this huge chunk of Narcissa laid in my lap, that's how it felt. I could see how she'd become the person she was, how she'd been practical and just as calculating as Bella but in a subtle way that no one could have figured out--but how wrecked she felt at seeing that her sister's reckless, careless, callous behavior turned out to be better rewarded than her own patience and loyalty ( ... )

Never TL;DR. I love the way you write, even just general comment stuff. I haven't read anything by Stephen King in a while that wasn't an article a week before DH was released that was talking about the end of the Potter series. It was a great article. Last I read by him was 4th in the Dark Tower series. Never did pick up Wolves or Suzannah. Really do mean to pick them up. Maybe even this month now that I'm finished with DH.

That was completely incredible. I love how you were able to weave together the "present" and the past as you presented Narcissa's motivations.

I also loved the thoughts that you had about dignity, and Narcissa's demeanor.

My favorite bit was Narcissa wondering if being "valued" meant as much as being "Cherished"- and, of course, Lucius letting his mask slip when they spoke on the train.

This was fantastic! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more of your stuff.

I'm very pleased that you liked it! The different times actually unlocked that story for me--I'd started to write the past bit, and got halfway through it when I realized that it was all in past perfect tense instead of simply past--and then I realized what sort of emotional impact it could be if she were looking back on her plans for her life, and how she'd managed to get to the point where she would turn her back on Voldemort.

The part where Lucius is just that tiny bit uncertain charmed me as well--I wrote it and went, 'oh my GOSH, that's so when you fall in love with him...' hehe

I've only ever written one other Narcissa/Lucius, and it was... very different, and only a wee ficlet to boot. However, I do hope that you'll like some of the other many odd pairings I've written! *friends back*

Aww :D your red dress ficlet is also amazing :D

Lucius/Narcissa are my OTP, and almost all that I ever write. I am the webmistress for Toujourspur.com, where most of my things are housed. It is an open archive, I would be honored if you would post your L/N (and other Black stuff) there- although I understand that some people don't like to have stuff all over the net, for version control and other reasons...also, I haven't been a very good mod recently :$

Look forward to getting to know you!

Here via lucissa. This was very nice. I liked how you connected the past and present by the overall theme of dignity, respect and love, which prevail through the decades and to the end of the war, and finally compel Narcissa to make her move. And much love for Hogwarts-era L/N! :) Thank you, I enjoyed this.
