Vriska Serket is one of twelve trolls to survive the Alternian apocalypse. She is associated with the astrological sign Scorpio. She therefore in the Homestuck canon has a relationship with arachnids- most notably spiders. Vriska's lusus (which is the troll's equivalent to a sort of guardian, but not quite a parent) is a giant spider, and is always hungry and requires a lot of attention from Vriska- before its death, anyways. She also has vision eightfold, granted by her left eye, which has seven pupils (bringing the total to eight). Her vision eightfold has given a sort of x-ray ability. Trolls also communicate primarily through instant messenger or message board, and each of them have their own typing quirks. Vriska's continues the play off the number eight by substituting all "b"s with "8"s, and also substituting "ate" sounds with "8"s. When flustered, she has a tendency to replace vowels with "8"s regardless of phonetics. She also types emoticons with eight eyes ( ::::D ) and for emphasis repeats vowels or punctuation eight times.
Her hobbies include extreme role-playing and treasure collecting. The game that she plays is called Flarp, and she plays it with some of the other trolls. Her roleplay character's name is Marquise Spinneret Mindfang. She apparently has a spidersona as well, but even rp fanatic Nepeta refuses to play with either of these characters, since they have a tendency to do horrible things. Her treasure plundering takes place during her Flarp sessions. Among her most important plundered treasures is her Magic Cue Ball, only good to her thanks to her eightfold vision, and a special set of eight eight-sided dice. Her respiteblock (troll living space- sort of like a bedroom) is littered with other things that have to do with luck and chance, just as these treasures do. She often breaks magic 8 balls in frustration over their unreliable predictions, and she often steps on four-sided dice, blaming her own bad luck, but in reality she just neglects to pick them up.
Some of the trolls have special psychic abilities, and Vriska is among them. Her ability is mind and body manipulation, and of the trolls who have any special powers, she abuses hers most of all. However, she can only take over the minds of more weaker-willed trolls. While she has tried to do the same to humans, her power only goes as far as being able to put them to sleep or wake them up. She's known to use her abilities during her extreme role-playing sessions and uses it to bring weak, young trolls to the web of her lusus. According to her ex-rp partner Terezi, Vriska has no sense for justice by abusing her powers like she does. She and Terezi had once been partners in Team Scourge (they earned themselves the names "Scourge Sisters" in their conquests), and Terezi says that their union was meant to be one with more noble intentions, to beat the bad guys and use them as spider food, but Vriska would prey even on the innocent.
Vriska most notably uses her ability in a situation involving one of their extreme roleplay sessions. It begins when Vriska uses her power to send Tavros off a cliff, paralyzing him. In revenge, Tavros' teammate Aradia uses her own powers to send the spirits of the innocent trolls caught by Vriska to haunt her. Vriska, to get back for that, manipulates Sollux into killing Aradia (which is especially tragic due to their presumed romantic relationship). Terezi draws the line at that point and alerts the mysterious Doc Scratch that Vriska has an important treasure of his, the Magic Cue Ball. Enraged that she has it in her possession, he causes it to explode. The explosion takes out Vriska's left eye and left arm. And in retaliation to that, she manipulates Tavros, who has an ability to manipulate animals, into manipulating Terezi's lusus, who in return manipulates her in her sleep to walk outside and stare at the Alternian sun, blinding her. Long after this, Aradia, whose spirit has been fitted into a robot body, beats Vriska to near death.
This situation has brought the other trolls to recognize Vriska as someone untrustworthy and dangerous. They pretty much universally accept that she is, plainly, a huge bitch. Troll relationships are exceedingly complicated and Vriska's personality doesn't make it any easier. She is known to have once been kismesis to Eridan, and vice versa, but she has since left him but he still holds unrequited feelings for her. She likewise holds unrequited feelings towards Tavros, who is mostly way too intimidated by her to ever return the feelings. She also appears to hold romantic feelings towards John, who is unfortunate enough to have Vriska as patron troll. Her relationships with John however has deep roots in Vriska's competitive and jealous nature. Vriska's rival Terezi is the patron troll of the human Dave, and Vriska is determined that John always one-up Dave. Initially, she befriends Dave and is quite helpful to him on his journey through his game, but she of course has different intentions. Vriska is so hellbent on getting this done to the point of putting his life in danger- even killing him- in order for him to reach higher power.
Among the trolls, the only one that seems to tolerate her on a friendly level is Kanaya. Vriska even recognizes her as a friend, even if she does refer to her as a "meddley meddler meddlefriend". Whoever she may have been friendly with in the past, she is no longer due to her manipulative and cruel personality. She is feared even by higher members of the hemospectrum, which is the troll social class hierarchal system, determined by the color of your blood, with red-violet being of the highest caste. Vriska is fifth from the top on this scale. Although she acknowledges the hierarchy, it does not seem to be especially important to her, as she is a huge bitch to both trolls above and below her.
Vriska also has a weird crush on Nicolas Cage.
At the point Vriska is taken from her timeline, she has just reached God Tier level. After being beaten up by robot-Aradia. Close to death, Vriska partially manipulates Tavros into bringing her to her quest cocoon and tries to get him to finish the job- challenging him to man up, but he runs away, afraid. She dies all on her own in that spot and returns in God Tier mode. Her left arm and eye have both been healed. It can be assumed that she has new stronger powers that have yet to be seen, but that would not have any business in Route's setting anyways.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
STRENGTHS
> Vriska's psychic ability, even though it won't do her much good in this setting, is worth noting.
> Psychic manipulation abilities set aside, she is still incredibly cunning with her ability to befriend people without their suspicion of her true motives. … At least towards people who are not aware of her history.
> She's goal oriented, even if they're incredibly selfish. She does what she has to do to reach them, including using or endangering other people. This has been seen especially in her relationships with John, or even Tavros. She uses others and will even place them in dangerous situations to suit her goals.
WEAKNESSES
> She's like…. really mean. "Huge bitch" is something she's called often and it's pretty damn accurate. She is therefore not especially likable once you get to know her.
> She has a dangerous jealous streak in her. Although she has the advantage over some people with her psychic ability and higher social status, she gets jealous of the skills of others. It brings out a competitive edge in her and she'll do what it takes to win.
> It's not especially hard to get her flustered. And once she is she can be snappy usually doesn't make the best decisions.
> She cheats as long as there are means to do so.

Getting pushed out early this morning by "mom", Vriska Serket is not a happy camper. This situation stunk worse than musclebeast shit.
First, and probably worst of all, is this new nauseatingly pink flesh. What happened to her beautiful shade of gray? And her horns, where the heck did they go? The setting is just as disgusting as her new transformation, with it's blue skies and warm sun.
She recognized the place as Earth immediately, of course being familiar with it through all the shenanigans with the humans. Recognizing it or not, she's annoyed and this isn't where she wants to be.
"At least some of the stuff in here isn't too weird," Vriska grumbles as she sorts through the items of the bag. There was a device that wasn't difficult at all to figure out, even if it hasn't proven especially helpful yet. There was some sort of manual, and if this turns out to be another game then she'll read through it and without a doubt master it instantly.
Most intriguing were the red and white balls. Variations on magic 8 balls? That's something she's familiar with. It's a pain to have lost her vision eightfold, because these don't have a convenient window into the space inside. In that case- "Well, there's only one way to find out!"
She picks up one of the balls and tosses it hard to the ground. Of course, when breaking things like this one would expect it to crack and for it to release its dark blue liquid content. Vriska's broken a lot of magic 8 balls, too. You could probably consider her something of a pro when it came to destroying spherical fortune telling objects.
So, needless to say, the flash of light and the the little green spider that emerged from it was the not exactly what she was expecting.
