With the stars as my blanket
and the moon as my guide
they'll carry me home
wherever I may roam
(I was gonna post the sun and moon tattoos that Dar has on his ankles, but I can't find the right image. Guess I'll have to draw them.)
Also?

The years passed by, and Richard forgot that fateful night. Many more memories crowded in to replace that single moment of terror. Arene grew to be a smart and sweet child. Richard and Cecilia watched her grow with delight, taking pleasures in watching the last of the angel line discover the world around her ( ... )

“Where are we?” The voice was young, thin, and scared. Darian reacted automatically, pulling himself from unconsciousness to protect. It was an action that was as instinctive as breathing. He looked around, finally catching sight of the small girl huddled in the corner. He moved to get up, finding something familiar about her when pain lanced through his entire body. He bit his lip automatically in order to stifle the cry that welled up in his throat. The girl moved toward him ( ... )

The pattern continued for several days. They would explore the room, then inevitably settle in the middle of the room, bored out of their skulls. Darian would pace the room, while Arene sat in the middle, watching him. Eventually, they would share about each other, Arene much more willing to share than Darian. Hojo watched the proceedings with interest, surprised to find out that while Arene wasn’t at all uncomfortable with room, she greatly disliked the dark. Darian was the reverse; he reveled in the dark, but greatly disliked the closed space. Their wings proved to be the greatest indicator of their emotions. But Hojo wasn’t done with his two captured birds, not by a long shot.

Arene whimpered in her sleep, trying to get away from the demons that clutched at her thoughts. She had never been given enough time to come to terms with the grief that had surrounded her life with her parents’ death. That same grief plagued her dreams. This time, though, the nightmares were tangible, bringing with them pain. She gasped in terror, sitting up as a wave of pain rolled through her. Darian was by her side in an instant, placing a wet rag on her forehead ( ... )

Severus(head of the Demon army) and Gabriel(head of the Angel army) pose as/are assassins/mercenaries (sorta) that are hired by Darian’s parents, to find their missing child. They help Arene and Darian escape. The two teens go to live/stay at Darian’s parents house, but they don’t recognize him at all. They offer protection when Hojo comes knocking.

However, it was time to through a wrench into the birds’ sweet little nest. Hojo had been looking for assistants for the last two years. He wanted to know how the two specimens would react to having more people in their space, and how the two men would react to the birds. He finally had found men that he liked. It had been hard, but worth it.

Gabriel looked at his companion for a second. “His name is Severus, and he also has a horse, a cat, and is good with a sword.”
“So, swordsmen.” Darian looked intrigued at the prospect. He’d only ever fought dummies of holographs before. The chance to fight an actual person was an incredible opportunity. “Shiny. What kind of swords?”
Both men got confused looks on their faces. “There are different types of swords?” One asked. The kettle whistled.
Arene looked around. “How about we continue the questions after tea?”
“And sandwiches. I’m hungry.” Darian chimed in.
