When the world is stranger than fiction....

I got this from Daily Kos and it showed me how truly ridiculous the world has become. It's about a new US government report about the dangers of iran.

The 29-page report [.pdf], principally written by a Republican staff member on the House intelligence committee who holds a hard-line view on Iran, fully backs the White House position that the Islamic republic is moving forward with a nuclear weapons program and that it poses a significant danger to the United States. But it chides the intelligence community for not providing enough direct evidence to support that assertion.

So... the Republicans have released a report saying that iran is an imminent danger to the US. And then they criticise the intelligence commitee for not providing any evidence of their belief.

Basically they're saying 'we think Iran is an evil state, but the real world doesn't back us up. Shame on you real world! Shame!'

We're going to be bombing Iran before November, would be my inference. Despite lieing about the Iraq intelligence, they're trying to do the same thing.

I really despair of the world right now. Can't we just all get along?

In other news, got past both the 65,000 word and the 300 page milestones on the novel today. I'm hoping to be done by October.
