Ah, fuck- this is one long story:

So- let's say, once upon a time, Sevvie was stupid and first getting into role playing and met this person across the world who, once upon a time, played Lucius Malfoy to Teal's Severus Snape. These two got along smashingly and would stay up until the wee hours of the morning to talk and PM and IM and giggle over fangirly things because they were thirteen and silly little things.

Let's also say, that once upon a time, Sevvie got the allowance to call this Lucius Malfoy person, Luce as they would have- once upon a time- been called. They lived in Canada and Luce and Sevvie got along so well, in fact, that all Sevvie and Luce could think about was coming home from school and getting on the phone to talk to one another, because they were then fourteen, but still silly little things.

This went on for a year until they were fifteen- and not so little, but still silly things and Luce makes the declaration that they have fallen for Sevvie with an utmost passion. Sevvie hadn't in a million god damn years seen that coming, but it made sense because only the day before Luce said this, Luce had a significant other of whom Sevvie was insanely jealous, and hated with an unrivaled fury. But Luce and this other went their separate ways due to things completely seeded by Sevvie's manipulative personality- though when Sevvie told Luce, Luce didn't mind so they began to date across countries and at least one time zone.

Everything was fine and dandy, once upon a time, because they were sure they were perfect for one another and no little thing like distance could come between them because they were stronger than the adults thought these silly little things could be. A year passes, once upon a time, before things vault out of fairy tales and into lands where Luce enjoys to drink, and get high with friends Sevvie doesn't approve of because they turn her Luce into someone mean and ugly and rude. Luce won't hear it because they are the friends, who- as Sevvie was implicitly told, came far before romantic interests.

Sevvie, once upon a time, liked to think that Disney had it right and life revolved around love and making sure the one you love couldn't want for anything- so she says all right, and lets it go because it's really Luce's life and she can't do much to stop who Luce is. Luce is happy, and Sevvie is happy- if a bit less so- and life goes on.

Months later, once upon a time, Sevvie began to fail her classes because she stayed up so late talking to Luce about things that didn't matter but made Sevvie smile because it was Luce talking about them. Sevvie tells Luce she can't talk as much because she's going to fail- but that they'll still talk and write and love- and Luce says okay without a second thought. Two fairy-tale months later, a mutual peer of Sevvie and Luce- Kate, we'll call them- tells Sevvie that Luce has been talking to her every night for the pat two months because Sevvie can't find the time to listen. Sevvie feels blind sighted and tries to talk to Luce, but Luce won't have it and decides to end everything there and then.

{Kate has her own love story, with a friend of Sevvie's- we'll call him Athruin- who Sevvie set Kate up with. They went just fine and dandy for a few months until Kate and Athruin began to fall apart- which was exactly the same time Luce needed someone to talk to. A listening ear who was going through the *same problems*.}

Sevvie is heartbroken, but doesn't say much because Sevvie was used to people not finding Sevvie worthwhile, and goes with Luce's want to "just be friends", and still talk and laugh and kind of joke like they used to. Except now, Luce is out and about with others all over the place, and comes back home in the dead of night and tells Sevvie to call, so that Luce can tell a heartbroken- terribly pining and marginally unstable Sevvie about the sexual exploits Luce has with the people who like Luce up north.

Sevvie smiles and talks and doesn't eat for months because there had to be something wrong with Luce not wanting Sevvie- and well, Sevvie's not particularly pretty enough and part of being pretty's not being obese, so we'll just work on that first. Once upon a time and a  good number of fainting spells and malnutrition claims later Sevvie declares the intent to win back Luce for Sevvie's selfish self. This would be the few weeks following her failure to so much as shower without a bath suit, because Sevvie's self-esteem had dropped so low. Later, Sevvie sends messages and different pictures of flowers and emails every morning and eventually, just like a fairytale- Luce is Sevvie's once more.

So it's been two years since these two terribly silly things decided to start whatever-it-was they had, and May rolls around- not a month after Sevvie and Luce have gotten back together, and Luce wants to go to a school dance- Prom, to be exact- with a friend who was a Senior. Sevvie expresses that she doesn't like the idea- because this Senior, we'll call them Joel- was known, before Sevvie and Luce got back to together, to want Luce all to themselves. But Luce says there's nothing to worry about, even when Joel sends Luce a dozen roses, and Sevvie smiles and nods but doesn't like it anyway.

After Prom, still once upon a time, Luce comes back with the news that Luce would rather have Joel, than Sevvie- because Joel is *there*, and Sevvie isn't. Sevvie cries and pleads and puts Sevvie's foot down eventually- and Luce agrees that they need to be more serious if anything's going to work.

Three months later, when a trip from Luce's there, to Sevvie's there has been planned- because they had everything. The money, the tickets and the plane picked out- and all that was left was Luce's passport to get over the border. Luce goes into the city for a week and promises to get it- for the third or so time- and Sevvie smiles and nods and tells Luce to have fun with her friends while she's gone, but don't forget the passport, all right? Luce says yes, and tells Sevvie that they love one another and leaves.

Later Luce says that no passport was gotten because Luce felt like spitting Sevvie for no reason- and I shall quote, Sevvie just, "wasn't there. I couldn't stand it."...and decided to make out, topless, with a couple of friends she'd never before met. Sevvie cries a bit, but nods and smiles and Luce says that they're sorry for doing it and Sevvie accepts it and moves on. By then it's too late to get a passport for the summer, and they move the trip to spring for safety. Luce promises and swears up and down- just like before- that there will be money saved, and definitely, surely they'll be together by winter break.

So Sevvie waits, and waits and, once upon a time winter break comes and goes and still Luce has found a way to not show up. Sevvie's heart is broken and Sevvie asks after it and Luce says that there wasn't time, there wasn't money and really- really, oh gosh, truely- Luce will be there for Spring. Sevvie sniffles and nods and agrees that, yeah, okay, that'd be fine because they're now sixteen and terribly silly, cynical things.

Once upon a time, as things go and happen, months pass and Luce does things to hurt Sevvie intentionally- yet again- and admits to them, repeatedly. but Sevvie loves Luce, and will hold on and be the better person because surely hurting so much isn't as bad as living without Luce, right? Eventually, once upon a time, Luce comes back too late, after one-too-many drinks, one night that Sevvie couldn't handle anymore heartbreak and says the things Sevvie can't stand to hear because Sevvie's heart had suddenly vanished and after the phone'd been hung up, Sevvie ran to bed and cried themself into a slumber.

There was a scant phone call, and a conversation over messengers before Sevvie made the final decision to never speak to Luce again- and after four years, and too many lies and fairy tales and happy nights and just talking and talking- Sevvie deletes the numbers, blocks the screen names, and cancels anything that, once upon a time, linked the two together. It was a month before Christmas, and Sevvie hasn't heard from Luce since.

Now she's lonely, and wonders if it was worth it, or if she's crazy because she's declared herself antisexual because she knows romance can't be worth hurt like that. Now she wonders if Luce ever thinks about her and the four years, or the happy nights, or the silly things they used to be. Now she wonders if all her hormones are just fucked right up because it wasn't good, it really wasn't- but not having it hurts too and there doesn't seem to be a way to win. Now she's even thinking about moving on to a kid, we'll call him Phuc, who doesn't seem to see the blatant flirting, or coy smiles or innuendos that means she just wants someone to talk to, just for this one story because no one cares to listen. Not since that month before the winter solstice has she thought about this much, and she doesn't much know what to do because Phuc's talking to her like they're best friends when she asks about his problems- but she can't talk about hers, because he's said he doesn't care one whit about them.

So now, not so much upon a time, Sevvie's sitting on her bed, telling a story about the silly thing she wishes she still was- trying not to cry.<3

{And that's just the romantic half of it. The girl drama's less important, though just as stressful.}
