So, this morning I noticed a poster for a fund-raising event some local restaurants are doing to help the Tsunami victims. They are calling it "Wave of Compassion."

That struck me as a pretty awful name. One of those "no pun intended" puns that are always awkward.

I did some quick searching online and I found that there are several fundraisers going on all over the world that seem to have come up with "Wave of Compassion" for their name. I don't think they are related, but still, it just seems like a sort of insensitive name for a fundraiser to help people who had their lives ruined by A GIANT TIDAL WAVE.

Am I being weird? Overly sensitive?

Also, I discovered a website for "Surf Aid" where surfers raise money for the indigenous people of the islands they frequent: http://www.waveofcompassion.org Interesting site.

I don't know... here I thought Tsunami Aid sounded awkward....
