So, it was my birthday a week and a half ago... and my lovely friends bought me a digital camera. Not a huge fancy one, a decent one though. I haven't used it really, except to test it out.
I'm not a real big fan of nature photography. I need people. That's what makes photography interesting to me. I do have an eye for capturing people being themselves.
So, our little town had a "Kite Festival" today. My friend Lori was hired to take photos of the event for the venue. So, I met her down there, and I used it as an opportunity to take some clicks myself.
Problem with a "Kite Festival" is, you need wind. If you said it was windy today, you'd also have to say the sky was purple. The turn out was decent for a first time festival.
So, behind the cut is a quick 4 photos.
And, oh yeah... I got sunburned like an albino pink lobster. But, I always burn first, then tan. So, it's to be expected.
4 kites doing follow the leader. It was truly an amazing display, for as little wind they had to work with.
A Grandmother trying her hand at a little 18 inch kite.
This kite is 90 feet long, it is a good 75 yards away.
Two of my friends who helped buy the camera. Lori hiding behind her daughter Jessica's hair. Lori is hiding while Jessica is modeling. Just as I'd expect them to do! Oh, and we snuck beer in.
