this is the latest update on the blueline medic
website, posted 01/01/06:
We’re thinking about a change of name and would love some feedback. Top of the list is “The Blueline Bears” (we hear bands with a “the” prefix in their names are going places). Sure, it sounds camp, but it would excuse us for having hibernated this winter. We’ve been sleeping... and didn't hear the alarm to wake up... or something… That “something” would be me being away. I guess it is hard to try and get things done when part of the band is living interstate. I’d moved north to QLD for work and while we were able to write music via bedroom recordings and the internet, it made it tricky to rehearse and play shows. But I’m back home in Melbourne now and we’re keen to start playing again.
Another name we’re considering is Blueline Quitters. “Quitters” because we’re like smokers quitting on a New Years Resolution. We were all gung-ho at the start and full of confidence, but then we fell right back into old bad habits. We promised a more routinely updated website, but really failed and let the site sit idle like we’ve done so many times before - sorry. If this site were a child, we’d all be standing around a very small coffin (Blueline Baby Killers). If it were a Gym Membership it’d sit under a KFC wrapper in the back of your car (Rotund Medic). If it were a website it’d suck (blueline medic).
So as Ms Benatar once sung, “no promises, no demands”. We’ll do what we can and give ourselves new names as our shortcomings become apparent. There’s a new year ahead of us and now that we’re all in the same state, we’ll try and do more things as a band when we get the urge. Right now, we’re all keen to record. This takes time and we’ve still got some preproduction work to do, but if we think of it, we’ll keep you posted.
