HI-5 star Kathleen de Leon vows her baby will not be the type of brat she often sees on the job.
"Good manners are important, I want to instil in my child a sense of respect," de Leon said.
"I will not spoil my child because, with the work I'm in, I've seen spoilt-rotten kids."
De Leon and her husband, former Savage Garden star Daniel Jones, are expecting a baby next month.
She has six to 12 months' leave from Hi-5 and this week her fill-in, Sun Park, starts work.
"She will fit in just fine," de Leon said. "What is important is that she has to adapt.
"If it were me, I'd be intimidated. You've got five people that get along so well."
De Leon, 28, daughter of a scientist mother and IT-industry father, grew up in Sydney, went to private school, and was raised to appreciate all cultures.
"My parents didn't want us to be segregated," she says.
De Leon wants the same for her baby.
"I hope my child does not experience prejudice for cultural difference or being mixed race," she says.
De Leon and Jones married last year and former Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes, was absent: "It wasn't a big deal, Darren was overseas. It was a small family wedding and we weren't necessarily inviting people because they're in the industry."
She's just jealous of Darren.
