Title: The Edge of Glory 1/2
Rating: NC-17 Overall - R This Chapter
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine, unrequited Blaine/Thad
Word Count: 2,697 (5,292 All Together)
Summary: From this prompt at the glee-kink-meme.
Essentially Thad is an ass and says stuff that is entirely untrue, making Kurt feel incredibly insecure about his relationship with Blaine. Cue Blaine being an amazing boyfriend and proving to Kurt just how much he loves him with body worship and blowjobs. There's some actual sex in there too.
Notes: I know this was already filled, but it wormed it's way in to my head and wouldn't shut up. I have the second part written, I'll put it up later today as it is now 1:48 in the morning and I need to go to sleep.
Fun Fact: This is saved on my computer as 'in which thad is a dick and blaine loves kurt'.

Also, for anyone who is wondering, I am working on the Demon!Blaine AU 'Verse I inadvertently created. They're just being stubborn little shits and only give me something to write when it's convenient for them. Read: when I don't have anything to write with or when it's three in the morning.
I do have a bit more written though, I'm just waiting to flesh it out before I post any more.

It’s not like he meant to hear it. He’s sure Blaine had no idea he had heard them. He should have hung up as soon as he realised what was going on. But what he should have done and what he did are two completely different things.

Thad had been sitting at his desk, finishing some last minute homework before class on Monday morning. He was just about to close his history book and drag out his math book, a whole chapter of trig awaiting him, when his phone began buzzing beside him. Robin Thicke’s smooth voice came crooning out of the speaker and Thad smiled, swiping up his phone from the desk. He couldn’t help the small feeling of hope he got every time Blaine called, that maybe this time he was calling to say he made a horrible mistake, it wasn’t Kurt he wanted to be with, but Thad. Thad swallowed, answering the phone. “Blaine, to what do I owe this pleasure?”

Silence.

“Blaine?” Thad’s brow furrowed, picking up on heavy breathing on the other end. Oh god, what if something was wrong? What if Blaine was hurt?

A low whine sounded through the receiver, followed by a low moan of Blaine’s name. Thad’s eyes went wide, his breath hitching as the low fuck, Kurt floated through the speaker. He swallowed hard. Was he... No, Blaine wasn’t that cruel, he wouldn’t purposely dial Thad while he was with Kurt, let alone while he was being, ahem, intimate with him. He must have pocket dialed. Thad knew he should hang up. But for some reason, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. So he sat. Listening to everything happening on the other end of the line.

“Blaine, please.” Kurt moaned, panting heavily.

“Kurt, fuck, just, s-slow down baby.”

“Blaine, c’mon.” Kurt’s voice lowered in register. “I’m ready. Please, I need you.”

“Not yet, Kurt, we’ve talked about this.” Thad could practically hear Kurt pouting.

“Why not? It’s perfect, we have the house to ourselves, and I want you.”

Thad heard rustling through the line, and assumed Blaine had pulled back.

“Kurt, I don’t want our first time to be some rushed thing, hoping your parents don’t come home early. Or, God forbid, Finn comes home early.”

Thad heard Kurt sigh. He couldn’t help but smirk to himself. Blaine and Kurt had been dating for close to six months, and Blaine still didn’t want to be with him that way.

“Fine, I understand. Can we at least get our cuddle on?”

Blaine laughed, and Thad’s stomach did a little flip. “Yeah, let’s finish the movie.”

Thad hung up his phone, smirking to himself as he flipped open his math book, a new spring in his step, figuratively speak.

It wasn’t until a few weeks later that things really came to a head, and Thad had just had enough. It was Friday after school and Wes had decided to hold an emergency Warblers meeting. Thad had taken his seat at the council table, crossing his arms and huffing. He stared across the room as Blaine walked in, all smiles, greeting everyone before taking a seat. He kept his eyes on Blaine, occasionally glancing over at Wes, watching him curiously as he watched the door. It was almost as if he was expecting someone else to enter. Thad took a quick sweep of the room. All of the Warblers were there, so what could he possibly be waiting for.

“All right Warblers, settle down, settle down.” Wes stood at the council table, turning his gavel over in his hands. “I’m sure you’re all wondering why I called this meeting this afternoon,” there was a soft murmuring around the room, “and I will be glad to tell you. Today, we have a very special surprise for you. Well, it’s actually for one Warbler in particular. I know some of you already know, and I thank you for not ruining the surprise.” Most of the Warblers looked around confused, a select few wore large grins.

“Without further ado.” Wes turned to the doors, grinning as music started up from the back of the room. Thad looked from Wes to the door, brow furrowing. Why wasn’t he in on this? What was going on? His question was answered when the doors opened, the figure of Kurt Hummel walking, no, strutting through the doors. Thad held back a sneer, his eyes narrowed. He could feel his heartbeat quickening, the tight knot in his chest only worsening when Kurt opened his mouth, singing along to the music.

There ain’t no reason you and me
should be alone tonight, yeah baby
tonight yeah baby
I’ve got a reason that you’re who
should take me home tonight

Kurt smiled broadly, making his way slowly through the Warblers toward Blaine. Thad chanced a glance over at Blaine and immediately regretted it. The look in Blaine’s eyes was enough to make Thad want to scream. His hands balled into fists on his lap as he tried to keep himself under control.

I need a man that thinks it’s right
when it’s so wrong tonight, yeah baby
tonight, yeah baby
right on the limits where we know
we both belong tonight

Kurt grinned, stopping in front of Blaine. Blaine sat stunned in his chair, looking up at his boyfriend. His lips parted slightly, breath catching in his throat as he watched Kurt sing.

It’s time to feel the rush
to push the dangerous
I’m gonna run right to
to the edge with you
where we can both fall over in love

Kurt opened his mouth to continue singing, but was cut off. Blaine had shot out of his chair, hands framing Kurt’s face, his lips pressing urgently against Kurt’s. Kurt gasped, hands flying up before they settled on Blaine’s hips. The music had stopped, and the room was filling with wolf whistles and cat calls. Blaine pulled back grinning, resting his forehead against Kurt’s, “I thought you were gonna be out of town this weekend.”

“I lied.” Kurt chuckled, thumbs rubbing circles against Blaine’s hips, “I wanted to surprise you.”

Blaine separated himself from Kurt, taking his hand and lacing their fingers together. “Well, you succeeded.” Kurt smiled, leaning in and placing a chaste kiss against Blaine’s lips.

Thad watched from his spot at the council table, jealousy and anger welling up inside him. He wanted to scream. He wanted to puke. He wanted that elf gone, and he wanted to be the one Blaine looked at like that.

Everything settled down, people lounging on the couches, chatting aimlessly. Thad found himself between Trent and Nick on the couch, arms crossed across his chest, rolling his eyes when he would glance over at Blaine and Kurt.

Instead of finding a place where they could sit side by side, like normal people, Blaine had sat back down in the lounge chair he had been sitting in, and pulled Kurt down on his lap. Kurt had giggled, wrapped his arms around Blaine’s neck and snuggled against him. Thad had to hold back the grimace threatening to spread across his face.

“So Kurt, isn’t your guys’ six month anniversary coming up?” Jeff spoke up from his position on the arm of the couch. The grin that spread across Kurt’s face could only be described as blinding.

“Tomorrow, actually.” He leaned forward, placing a kiss against Blaine’s cheek.

“I thought he wasn’t going to be here.” Blaine tightened his hold around Kurt’s waist, hugging him close. “I had a whole thing planned for next weekend, but obviously that won’t be necessary.” Blaine smiled lovingly up at Kurt, leaning up to kiss Kurt softly.

“Awe, you guys are adorable.” Nick laughed, watching his friends together. Thad rolled his eyes, huffing quietly. Sickening, more like.

“Yes, we are.” Kurt giggled, letting his head rest on Blaine’s shoulder. “Though, a lot of it is Blaine. He’s got that whole puppy thing going on.” Blaine chuckled, shaking his head.

“You guys are like, perfect together. I can’t imagine two people better for each other.” Wes spoke up from across the room. Thad couldn’t hold back a snort this time, rolling his eyes for the umpteenth time, muttering, “Please...”

Blaine quirked a brow, but shrugged it off. Thad had never really seemed to like Kurt, but Blaine had chalked it up to clashing personalities. But now that he thought about it...

“Something you’d like to say, Thad?” David asked, sharing a look with Wes before eyeing Thad. He silently willed Thad to just let it go.

“Yeah, actually, there is.” David cringed. Wes closed his eyes, frowning. “These two are far from perfect for each other.”

Kurt sat up straighter, raising an eyebrow, staring down Thad. “Oh?”

Thad sat up, refusing to back down. “Remember when Blaine was in love with Jeremiah? He knew him for a week and was singing about how he wanted in his pants. Oh, and then that week he was straight for Rachel Berry? Then there’s the fact that you are so fucking annoying, I don’t know how Blaine puts up with you. But I guess when you’re his last option, he kind of has to.”

Blaine’s eyes narrowed, his eyes darkening, “Thad.” He warned in a low voice.

Kurt bristled, “I’m not a last option.” He said coldly.

“No?” Thad leaned forward, smirking, “You’ve been together almost six months. Don’t you think if he actually wanted to be with you, he would, I don’t know, want to touch you, especially when you have the house to yourselves, all alone in your big bed, the perfect setting? Instead he just wants to cuddle and watch a movie?”

Kurt swallowed thickly, stiffening. “How did you know that?” Kurt’s voice was small, tears beginning to brim in his eyes. Thad leaned back, laughing, “Blaine should learn how to lock his phone, lest he pocket dial during a private moment.”

Kurt licked his lips, standing slowly. “Kurt, stop.” Blaine reached a hand out to Kurt, ready to pull him back down. Kurt shook his head, crossing his arms across his chest. He turned on his heel, walking quickly to the door. “Kurt, wait!” Blaine stood from the chair, looking from Kurt to Thad.

Kurt rushed out of the room, letting the doors slam closed behind him. He tried to wait until he rounded the corner, but he couldn’t stop the choked sob from escaping, tears spilling over his eyes. He paced the hall, clutching his chest, trying to keep his crying to a minimum. Kurt slid down the wall, hugging his knees to his chest, letting his head fall forward.

“What the fuck is your problem!?” Blaine shouted, rounding on Thad. Thad rolled his eyes, settling back against the couch. “What? I was only telling the truth.”

“No! You weren’t!” Blaine’s face was quickly turning red, the vein in his neck starting to pop. Jeff’s eyes went wide and he shrunk back, most of the other Warblers doing the same, no one having ever seen Blaine this angry. “You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about! You’re taking about shit that you shouldn’t have even heard and you’re twisting words around, and you’re just generally pissing me the fuck off.”

Thad swallowed, trying to keep his ground. “Whatever, it was only a matter of time before you guys broke up. I just did you a favor.”

Blaine’s eyes went wide, his pulse racing. He strode over to the couch, gripping Thad by the lapels of his jacket and pulling him up, breathing heavily as he stared down Thad. “Kurt and I are not broken up. Nothing you do will every break us up. You are an asshole. You always have been. You’ve been jealous of Kurt since the day he walked through that door. I have never liked you Thad, I will never like you. Get over it.”

Blaine let go of Thad, shoving him back to the couch before turning on his heel and exiting the room. Wes turned to Thad, glaring, “You’re off the Warblers.”

“W-what? You can’t just kick me off!” Thad sputtered.

“Fine,” David spoke up, moving to stand next to Wes, “All in favor of kicking Thad off the Warblers?” All hands rose in the air, everyone turning to glower at Thad. “It’s decided. As of today you are no longer a Warbler. Feel free to remove yourself from this room.”

Blaine walked down the hall, following the sound of Kurt’s crying. “Kurt?” He called softly, rounding the corner. His heart broke when he saw Kurt curled in on himself, sitting against the wall, hugging himself tightly. “Oh, Kurt...” Blaine hurried over to him, kneeling beside him. He tentatively placed a hand on Kurt’s shoulder, wincing when Kurt flinched away from him. “Kurt,” He spoke gently, sitting down next to him, “Kurt, please look at me, baby.”

Kurt sniffled, rubbing at his eyes before lifting his head, turning slowly to face Blaine. “You can just break up with me now, I won’t hold it against you.” Blaine furrowed his brow and scooted closer to Kurt, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Why would I break up with you?”

“B-because of what Thad said. Because he was right.” Kurt whispered, hiding his face again.

Blaine frowned, holding Kurt close. “Kurt, baby no, no.” He placed a kiss to Kurt’s temple, speaking softly. “Thad was way off base, he has no idea what he’s talking about. He’s jealous. He’s wanted to be with me for who knows how long. I love you, Kurt. I love you. Only you.”

Kurt regarded him warily, lower lip trembling just slightly. “How can you say that when you don’t even want to touch me?” Kurt’s voice was barely above a whisper, his eyes pointedly avoiding Blaine’s.

Blaine moved his hands to frame Kurt’s face, stroking his thumb gently across his cheek. “Kurt, love, look at me please.” Kurt lifted his gaze, watery blue eyes meeting hazel, and Blaine had to try not to gasp. Kurt was just so breathtaking, even when he was crying. “That could not be further from the truth. I, god I want to touch you, so bad. I want to kiss you, everywhere. I want to learn every part of your body, I want to know what makes you fall apart, and I want to watch you fall apart beneath me, knowing that I’m the one that made you feel that good.”

Kurt hiccuped softly, biting his lip, “Then why, every time...?” He trailed off, staring at the marble below his feet.

“Because, Kurt, it wasn’t the right time.” Blaine shifted, stroking Kurt’s face gently. “I know you said you were ready, and... and I’m ready too, but baby, we weren’t ready.” Kurt sat with his eyes closed, leaning in to Blaine’s touch, his sniffling almost gone. He nodded once before speaking, “I-I guess you’re right.” Kurt sighed, opening his eyes and locking them with Blaine’s. “I love you.” There was just a hint of desperation behind his voice, as if he didn’t expect Blaine to say it back, or mean it.

Blaine smiled, leaning in and kissing Kurt gently. “I love you, too. So fucking much Kurt, you don’t even know.” He mumbled against his lips, laughing softly. Kurt smiled against his lips, returning the kiss. Blaine moved so he was kneeling, placing an arm securely under Kurt’s legs, the other wrapped tightly around his waist. “Put your arms around me.” He stood carefully, making sure to keep his footing.

Kurt’s arms flew around Blaine’s neck, gripping as he began walking, carrying Kurt. “W-what are you doing?” Kurt stuttered, praying that Blaine wouldn’t drop him.

“I’m carrying you, silly.” Blaine chuckled, stating the obvious. He shifted his arms, tightening his grip on Kurt as he ascended the stairs.

“You don’t have to do that.” Kurt said quietly. Blaine smiled at Kurt, reaching the landing to the dorm rooms. “I know. I want to.” Kurt’s mouth twitched in to a smile before he buried his face in Blaine’s neck, breathing him in. “You’re gonna have to open the door though.” Blaine laughed as they reached his dorm.
