What a party!

The Polarden Yardwarming Party was a really big success.

It started out slow, with the first few people not showing up until 12:30 to 1:30, then all of a sudden, we had a population explosion. At the peak, around 5pm to 6pm, there were at least 50 people at the party. Everyone was having a great time and it was nowhere near being crowded.

Kris hosted several games of MahJongg in the front room. A few youngsters played on their Playstation (first in the theatre, then in the front room). I turned on the projector around 4pm and played Clone Wars, then Buckaroo Banzai, and for some reason, I can't remember what else... but the theater was always full. Allison Lonsdale (caprine)played geeky music under the deck in the backyard. My brother showed up for a couple hours and helped with the cooking duties as I went on a shopping run. Christine Hey brought croquet and set it up on the lawn.

The tortilla wraps went over well, and dissappeared fast. It was my first time trying to make those... I'll definitely make them again.

The inventory in the honor-fridge was 87 cans lighter when I counted them the next morning... pretty impressive since hazelchaz brought free sodas for people in his own ice chest also, and other people brought their own beverages.

Spino brought a movie that was from the same director as "the gods must be crazy," called Animals Are Beautiful People... it was simply too funny. Who'd have thought that a nature documentary from 1974 (golden globe winner in 1975 for best documentary) would be that entertaining. The Mah-Jongg players even had to take a break and go see what was making everyone laugh in the theatre. ;)

So many people showed up... and I was having such a great time that if I forgot to thank you at the time for being there, let me thank you now.

The last guests left around 2:30am. Kris wanted to make sure that they weren't on the road during "drunk hour", especially Thorson who had to drive all the way back up to North Hollywood, so she kept him chatting until it was late enough to be safer on the road. It took no time at all for us both to lose consciousness.

...on Sunday, we both slept till Noon, then we watched Clone Wars and SW:Attack of the Clones so we'd be ready for Revenge of the Sith next weekend. We were both so sore from hosting the party we had a great time acting like vegetables for several hours. ;)
