Okay, these news reports were both online at the SAME time, just minutes ago, from Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. One says that US fuel inventories are suprisingly low, so futures increased this morning drastically... the other says that US fuel inventories are higher than expected and so futures are dropping this morning

The article on the left says that crude oil inventories increased, leading to price drops, while inventories of refined products declined, increasing the price of those futures.

The article on the right says the same thing.

It's only the headline on the left that is wrong; the headline writer clearly got confused about what was actually going on.
