Walking again... cautiously.

I have been practicing a bit on 1-crutch for the last week or so, and taking baby-steps without crutches around the house... this past weekend, I decided to not use the crutches at all, although I did spend most of the weekend with my leg up, watching TV ( Read more... )

Believe me... My goal is NOT to do anything stupid while my ankle is healing.

I *really* want to keep my vacation plan to ride out to WingDing32 in Des Moines. I've been planning this for more than 7 months now, and will be really depressed if I can't make it.

I've got a firm schedule to leave on June 27, stopping overnight in Cedar City, Denver, Grand Island, and then arriving at the event on June 30.

After the convention, I'm spending the night of July 4th in the small town of Exline, Iowa (just for the fun of it). I'll take as many picures as possible with me standing in front of places like the "Exline Country store", and "Exline Towing", etc. ;)

My return trip is a little more loosely planned, but I need to be back in San Diego by the night of July 9.

That's a GREAT idea. According to GoogleMaps Street-view, The Exline post office is right across the street from the Exline Country Store.

Actually, the entire town of Exline is only a few blocks from the country store (LOL!).

It's so small, I'm having trouble finding Lodging or a campsite where I can set up my tent anywhere nearby... but I've asked the folx at the Exline Country Store to ask around - they have their own FaceBook page.
