Not being able to see the sun before Noon (or not at all some days) is called "June Gloom" here in So.Cal coastal areas, especially in San Diego.
The Cold Pacific Ocean causes a dense humidity layer all along the coast, and a few miles inland... sometimes causing fog, but most days causing a low, thick overcast cloud layer (The "Marine Layer") that retreats as the day warms up, then comes back onshore at night.
I just had sunshine come through my window at work... and it is only 10am.
Yay! Summer is nearly here... the brown season is right around the corner.
(Yes, we have four seasons here... Green, Gray, Brown, and Fire.)
