It's not just illegals who drive w/o licenses...some of my friends do too. There are any number of reasons.

We're talking about commercial truck drivers. This was a Truck Bypass route, not just any old freeway segment.

9 drivers (and possibly more if there were passengers) from 9 different trucks fled the scene and file no report either to their insurance, the police, or anyone. They probably told their employers... and they are not talking either.

What other conclusion can there be? They were most likely illegals.

Sure there *may* have been other reasons, but we're talking about Interstate 5 in Southern California, just north of the Los Angeles basin.

One of them caused the accident and doesn't want to get in trouble. One of them had drugs on them. One of them was already in trouble with the law. One of them has amnesia. One of them was so terrified he ran away. One of them had a religious experience and wandered off into the woods. One of them had his whole life flash before his eyes and rushed back to his spouse and children. One of them said, "Fuck it." One of them got lost in the shuffle. One of them is still in the hospital. One of them was told by a dumb cop that he could go. One of them had to go to the bathroom. And yeah, maybe one of them was an illegal.

Like I said, interesting leap of logic you made there.

So... you're saying you "have" an idea of where they went? ...Several ideas, in fact.

That's a far cry from "we have NO idea".

I have a few suppositions based on hearsay, conjecture, myth and "appearance of impropriety" - just like you. :)

Oh... and which one of your alternate scenarios explains that none of these trucks, nor their loads have been reported missing yet?

No missing persons reports, nor hijackings... You'd think that SOMEONE would miss them, no? The fire was Friday. Today is Tuesday.... That's a long time for a southbound truck that was already entering the L.A. area to be "missing"

...unless the owners of those trucks and/or the loads they were hauling KNEW that they had hired illegals, in which case they wouldn't report that their truck was among the wreckage, would they?

And no, the CHP has stated unequivocally that there are no other bodies in among the wreckage.

So then you've spoken with all the trucking companies involved, and all the people involved in the crash, and the witnesses and rescue personnel on the scene? And here I thought they were working you too hard at work. :P

But do they drive 18-wheelers and commercial vehicles?

...and they listen to *both* kinds of music: Country *and* Western!

LOL!!!
I've used that line so many times living down here in the South.
And a new one as well: "We have BOTH kinds of beer: Bud AND Bud Light!"
