... Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.
Closing Ceremonies were at Noon... the convention was officially closed at 1pm today.
It's very odd for a convention to close so early in the aftenoon, with the dead-dog not starting until 6pm (about 30 minutes from now) there wasn't a lot to do.
I tried to take the subway into Yokohama Station to see a few sights aroudn there, but apparently the station inbetween wasn't a stop and I went one station too far... I couldn't figure out why my ticket woudln't let me out of the station, and was puzzled when the attendant told me I owed another 150 yen... but I lef the station and started walking around.
... It dawned on me after doing a wide semi-circular arc through a residential neighborhood, that this was NOT the central Yokohama station, and had one of those "Doh!" moments, and bought another 150 yen ticket to get back to the right station.
Then I was tired from walking and feeling silly, so I just used my return ticket back to Mainato-Mirai station (near the convention). At least I got my bearings for tomorrow, when I'll be lugging my bags with me. I would have hated to be lost AND carrying 30 kilos of bags with me as well.
Tomorrow I head back to Narita... but another travel snafu dawned on me the other day... My second JR East 3-day railpass exchange ticket needs to be exchanged in Tokyo or at the airport... Doh!
I guess I'm going to start out tomorrow with a one-way ticket to Tokyo and then locate the JR-East office so I can finish my trip to Narita on the Express train.
Intersting thing happened around 2pm... The clouds completely dissappeared. They didn't drift off slowly or anythign liek that... it was like someone flicked a switch and Ta-Da! there was sun and no clouds in sight.
..still too much haze on the horizon to see Mt. Fuji, though.
Well, I'm off to the Dead Dog party... hopefully I'll see Maho there again and talk her into showing me some more of Yokohama's night-life... and I'll remember to bring my camera this time so I can get someone to take a picture of us. ;)
