I feel fat and bloated now...
Mom and I just got home from dinner at my grandmother's. Apparently my aunt and uncle were supposed to join us but ended up canceling at the last minute due to some work related outing involving a scrumptious restaurant engagement. Just as well, more for us. Seriously though, they missed out. We had honey baked ham, asparagus, mashed potatoes with garlic, red cabbage, a mixed salad with walnuts and raisins in it and some fluffy crescent rolls. On top of that, my grandmother made the most mouth watering rubbarb pie for desert. She wasn't sure if it was going to turn out well or not (seems she's been playing with the recipe a bit) but it was divine. I managed to snag the remainder of what we didn't polish off there for a midnight snack later on.
Another long, lonely day tomorrow, as mom has to leave for work a bit after seven in the morning. I think I may try to finagle my cousin's phone number out of her before she goes to bed tonight. At least then I'll have a possibility of escape from this middle-of-nowhere-land. Honestly, it's not all that bad, but for someone used to living in the city it's a bit of a strain being three miles from even the nearest gas station. And that's about ALL that's out here too.
Ah well...doctor's appointment on thursday of next week, I believe. Here's hoping that goes as smoothly as possible, all things considered.
