Yes, I made meatloaf and despite the smell of hot, burning, blacktop tar filling our apartment, the stench did not get into the meatloaf. It was actually pretty tasty and we've got plenty left over for another meal and a couple of sandwiches. Plenty of left over whipped potatoes too ( Read more... )

Ooh, be careful with tatties, I believe they're poisonous to cats and dogs.

Yeah, everything is poisonious to cats and dogs now.

When I was a kid, they made chocolate treats for dogs. I'm not kidding, they were called chocolate kisses and the first ingredient on them was chocolate. And we fed these to our dogs. Also, my dog Shilo had a habbit of stealing into the cupboard, taking chocolate cake mix, shreading the box, and eating it.

It never harmed her, more than one time where she vomited, and if you ate an entire box of chocolate cake mix, you'd probably vomit too. Yet, to hear people talk, the mere sniff of a chocolate bar wrapper will KILL YOUR PET INSTANTLY!

I don't think a sliver of potato peel, maybe an inch long and half an inch wide is going to kill Jesse. Especially when even after playing with it, there was still significantly more peel than not left.

Yes, I exagerated a bit when I talked about how much peel there was. It was for the sake of a good story. If I worried you that I'm a bad cat owner, sorry. But, I'm actually a pretty good cat owner.

I can't eat goldfish crackers, bacon, or french fries without sharing a bit with Afreet.

I can't eat cole slaw without sharing it with Chrissy.

And I don't dare bring ham into the house without sharing. I'd probably be killed in my sleep if I tried it.

Oh I absolutely know you are :) I just figured that most people don't know that raw potatoes are posonous to humans, let alone smaller animals, and you might wanna know if it was to become a regular treat. Sorry if I offended.

Oddly, I did know that raw potato was bad for animals but not for humans. Not that I make it a point to nibble on raw potatos, but I do find that interesting.
