Christina and I had this amazing adventure to Dry Ridge Kentucky two weeks ago that I didn't get to write about, but the good news is, we found a beautiful two bedroom apt in Williamstown, Kentucky, and rent is only 450!
A lot of leaving and goodbyes have been going on.I'll really miss working with the Dinsmore crew, they were truly a fun bunch. I'll miss Austin's opinion on everything (even the one's I didn't agree with), Roxanne constantly beggin Austin to play DDR and Austin always coming up with a dumb excuse not to play, Eric's long rants about how pretty much every radio song that was made after 91 sucks, Mark annoying the crap out of everybody, and Heidi bombarding me with "religious questions." It was a blast. Yes, I purposely forgot to mention I miss everyone calling me gay cause I love Coldplay.
LAst Wenesday marked an end of almost 4 years of worship leading at FOCUS. Eric did something at the end of the service that was very special to me. He talked about how our friendship was sparked through FOCUS, and how it grew from him being my mentor, to us just really laerning from each other and enjoying each other. Then, he basically said that some of the FOCUS ministry would have fallen apart if I hadn't stepped up and worked hard with the worship elading. It meant so much to me. Then, he presented me with a "minister's Manual" and pointed out that it would be real useful anytime a church needs an organ dedication! Sorry ROd Huron, you're a tad dated, but he assured me there was other real helpful stuff in there. I'll really miss FOCUS. It's because of FOCUS that I am the worship leader I am today. I also got to play with some great musicianship (TOmmy thanks for putting up with my elementary skills) and Little you simply rock. I also thought it was special that JP requested that I play my original song "Promise of your presence." Unless I ever play at FOCUS again, it will stand as the last song i Played there! I think the last line summed up the whole purpose of my ministry there- "YOu are alive." It's one thing to know and hear God is alive, it's another thing to see him actively working in the lives of so many awesome college students at a secular school. He truly is alive!
This Sunday will be my last at NEw Heights. Christina's parents and my family were personally invited to come up by the church. It's going to be a very special day. I'm going to preach, and then they're going to have a special pitch in for Chrisitna and I. The experience will always mean so much to Christina and I. I really saw Christina at her best in Conersville. She doesn't fully realize it, but I know there are several women that she made a huge impact on, by doing some of the smallest things-listening to them and praying for them. Though I'm excited about Versalles, I really miss it there, and I might even get Connersville sick for a while. I think the most exciting thing I've seen there in the past few months inolves a girl our age. She came home from college do to a foot injury that almost caused an amputation. Sense she's been home, she's become extremely active with the youth group, hanging with the kids on sunday nights and being at different events. I really believe God point her in that situation of the injury to change her life. I really believe that in a few weeks, she is going to have a major time of decision and experience a true life change, because she just really seems to be grasping how much Jesus loves her through working with the kids, if that makes sense. PRay for me cause I'm going to talk to her some this weekend about her faith.
But yeah, goodbyes. They're tough. It's a time of stress, transition, and change. Continue to pray for us!
