Premature Departure

Jun 04, 2008 10:53

Starting on the 15th of this month, I shall be taking off from the state of Iowa City into California and living in its capitol, Sacramento. I'll be in her for two whole months while Derek and Wendy will be off in China with her parents and exploring its massive culture. Initially, I was thinking how isolated I would be from any subcultural interests that I have, but after looking into the workings of Sacramento, I think it'll be a much more social experience than I could ever hope for. There are several weirdo music events happening: Wolf Eyes is playing a $5 gig the day after I arrive in town, which is a nice treat; Sic Alps and Eat Skull will be playing in the Sac/Davis area before they hit the midwestern shores; and hopefully this Extreme Animals show I took the responsibility to book will happen and be well attended. A trip to LA will likely happen, I just need to figure out an employment situation and a way to get music gear as I will leave most of my stuff here.

Other news, I finally check out Noisebloid and "whoever" maintains this blog finally updated it this year. The gossip/lies/pure fantasy blog-tabloid is retardedly funny for approximately 1000 people, except for the possible "celebrity" news that happens. For example, this entry could be the most absolute banal news bit unless you take in the account of the extreme high dose of context required. Funny to People Magazine? No. Funny to anyone on the Troniks board? About half will find it funny, and the other half will find it completely terrible.

Last thing, I have several cassettes out now. The Driphouse "2" C12 is finished and dubbed. The Dubdrip/Nimby summer cassingle is still out and I have a handful of copies. Anyone curious knows how to get a hold of me, I hope. There's also a Trash Dog/Zero Aggression cassingle floating about too, but I don't have any copies of that yet. They are killer. William Elliot Whitmore of "Will Whitmore" fame instantly became a fan at their gig with Escape the Floodwater Jug Band record release show and immediately purchased their debut cassette.

PEACE
