Hi!
I figured I should do an update, to remember things. This is about December, specifically Winter Break. I went back to Minnesota for four days and mainly worked on a paper for my Intro to Thermodynamics class. Everyone in my family was in a bad mood except for my mom, who asked me if she could come stay in Milwaukee with me to escape from my dad and brother (party in jest, partly not).
I had a plane ticket to use up from last year's ASCE fiasco so I decided to come back to Milwaukee early. I flew into Chicago and was going to go to the Shed Aquarium with George, his mom, and his little brother. My plane landed at 9 A.M., they picked me up from the airport at 1 P.M. That was fun. :-\
We didn't end up going anywhere in Chicago as George's mom was sick, so we just drove back to Milwaukee, but stopped in Racine, WI, to do a little shopping. I was sick from the plane ride (my ears) and cranky from sitting in Midway Airport (the place I had gotten that ticket through doesn't go to O'Hare) for four hours but happy to see George.
George stayed with his family for Christmas, but wasn’t supposed to gone from the dorms for very long. He was taking care of my plants, my fish, and my hermit crab (Olégarcio), but he ended up staying at his parent’s place for longer than expected. I was scared I was going to come back to a dorm room full of dead things. As it turned out I just came back to a dorm room with wilted plants, a hungry fish, and a dead crab. :(
I had a nice week back in the dorms before classes started with George. I didn’t get to do anything special except play videogames and work, but it was still nice. On New Years Eve I walked to city hall and watched the fireworks being set off from the Marcus Theater for Performing Arts. They were pretty but it was cold!
The weekend before classes restarted George went to a LAN with a friend from high school and while he was gone bought me two tiny hermit crabs to replace Olégarcio. Their names are Sapphron (not named after the herb Saffron or the boss Sapphiron in the Frostwyrm Lair of Naxxaramas) and Priscilla. The hermit crabs are very cute, and I learned not to say “George gave me crabs!” but to say instead “George gave me hermit crabs.”
