Once upon a time a young girl stumbled upon a fascinating theory: the monster/beauty continuum. She gets swept away by the concept and literally lands in a fantasy land called Phantasmagoria. Phantasmagoria is a land where all of the beauties are monsters and all of the monsters are beauties. She meets Dr. Lucky, the Patron Saint of Glamour, and all of the creatures of Phantasmagoria who each teach the young girl a thing or two about the beauty in monsters and the monstrosity of beauty. Through their lessons, our young girl emerges a woman who realizes that this fantasy land can in fact be a reality.
Come join a star-studded cast as our performers bring to life Dr. Lucky’s essay entitled, "'It is the Ugly that is so Beautiful': Performing the Monster/Beauty Continuum in Neo Burlesque." Starring some of the most compelling monsters/beauties in the new burlesque scene including Bambi the Mermaid, Bunny Love, Darlinda Just Darlinda, Devilicia, Dr. Lucky and Little Brooklyn. New acts, production numbers, sets, scripts… this will be a once-in-a-lifetime event! We are honored for you to join us as we celebrate MONSTER/BEAUTY!!!
