Tonight turned out to be a really good night.
Even though there were shitty bands (REALLY shitty) playing at work, plus the crowd was horrific... it was like Hess fucking Village in there tonight, with all these homeboys and bimbos, but I made the best of it, and Dave, Biff, Johnny and Phil showed up later on which made it more fun.
I ended up drinking even though I haven't been drinking much lately due to this really good, healthy eating kick I mysteriously got started on out of the blue about two weeks ago. If I don't let myself have some drinks once in awhile I'll go crazy. Lou and I were drinking scotch at the start of the night. Ugh, I think I see a patch of HAIR growing on my chest!
After the show, Lou and I drove out to the west end to get some shawarmas (yeah... healthy eating apparently was TOTALLY on hold tonight) at this place he was raving about, because I told him I had never had a shawarma and he freaked out and told me we had to go get one as soon as we were done working. We actually had a really great time together. We ordered baba ganoosh (I'm probably murdering the spelling of that), a couple of shawarmas and a falafel which I ended up taking home because I was stuffed. It was the first time Lou and I have really hung out together on our own outside of work and had a chance to get into some good, deeper conversation, and we ended up staying at the restaurant for like an hour and a half just chatting. I love Lou so much, I feel such a strong connection with him and he told me the same thing, which is always nice to hear. We made a date to go record shopping together in a couple of weeks at this cool record store in Dundas, and do lunch and smoke a bunch of dope.
Then when I got home, Jen and I hopped on msn and had a great e-date for a few hours. I miss her so much every day and I just really can't wait until she's home for a month in the summer. We're going to get tattoos together, we're just trying to decide on what to get. We came up with a few cool ideas tonight. I'm excited to do this with her: she is my best friend in the entire universe - no one gets me like Jen does and loves me as unconditionally as she does, and it will just be a nice little way to symbolize our friendship and remind us of each other on a daily basis even though we live oceans apart.
Well, I have a throbbing headache, my mouth tastes like ass and I think my spine is crumbling into itself from sitting at this computer, so I'm off to bed. Oh look, the sun is coming up... perfect timing.
