Yesterday I went to the casino with my mom. I basically broke even - I was playing with the same $300 pretty much all night. Damn lady luck just wasn't on my side. No matter - I had tons of fun with her just the same. My mom and I are like two hilarious Cheech & Chong Thelma & Louise bitches. Smoking weed in her Porsche, zipping down the highway blasting classic rock, drinking casino cocktails... haha. I love spending time with that woman. I think she's taking me shopping next week because I am broke right now and desperately need: a new coat, boots, bras, possibly a few tops. My wardrobe feels so grim right now, and I don't mean black metal.

Afterward I got dropped off at the jam room and Matt hadn't showed up (grrrr) so Biff, Dave and I fucked around for a bit and then went to Che for burritos and beers.

Coyote Hotel is recording tomorrow. If all goes well, we'll be making a 6 song EP. I'm not doing vocals tomorrow, because I'm working at the bar (Ian Blurton + Huron!), so the guys are just recording all of the music with Sean (Pearson; he's recorded Cursed, Sailboats Are White, King Cobb Steelie and a ton of other bands). I'll probably lay down vocals next week.

Tonight I'm going to Lasha's for wine and girltalk. I think a bunch of the other ladies are coming too. I can't wait, I could really use a night like that. Saturday night Jeff, Holly, Ryan and Jeremy are coming down from London for our fifth MOVIE NIGHT FROM HELL installment. This time it's Jeff's birthday! So excited to see all those guys. Especially Jeremy. I hate living so far from him. That guy is a gem, one of my true best friends. He's been having so many health problems this year that it's been really hard to spend much time with, especially now that I moved to Hamilton. And he's the only one that drives, out of the two of us. I really wish he would come down more to see me.

I was talking to my mom last night about my goal for next year, which is obtaining my license and purchasing a tour/out-of-town gig van. See, Biff drives a tiny Ford Focus, Matt drives a little blue thing, none of us have a vehicle that will allow us to play out of town and take our equipment. So I was doing some thinking the other night, and I decided that hey, I'm getting older... it's about time I got my license. You know like... if I have a kid in a few years, I REFUSE to be that asshole that tries to cram their stroller onto a busy bus. I'm not having kids unless I have a car. It's my rule. So I was like, hmm... if I get a vehicle, maybe I'll get a van or something, so that we can use it for band traveling, and then I'll have a big vehicle for taking friends to out of town shows and events, and I can fit tons of stuff in the van!
Anyway, so I would have to go write my G1 again, which isn't a big deal. Then I'm going to see if Jenny or Biff or someone can refresh my driving with me in their car (I haven't driven for quite sometime... years), and once I feel comfortable, I'll book my G2 test.
My mom suggested that I get an SUV. I was like "well, the idea of getting a van is that it's cheap, I could get a van good enough for the band for like two grand. But she's like "Yeah, but you'd be better off with an SUV like Wayne's." Which, in my mom's language, is her basically telling me that she'd either help me out with getting one, or give me Wayne's when they get a new one. I wouldn't mind that at all, Wayne's SUV is a really nice, slick black one. Doesn't look like soccer mom material at all.

So yeah, that's my big 2010 goal.

I feel so lame right now, I don't know why. My mind just feels cloudy, I don't feel focused. I probably have a lot to say, but I'm just in a weird state of mind at the moment.

mnfh!, friends, band stuff, driving, girl friends, my mom
