Lou and I have been discussing plans for our This Ain't Hollywood (the club I work at) xmas party/my birthday bash. He asked Coyote Hotel to play, which at first I was kind of dreading because you know... who wants to play at their birthday party? But I told him as long as we are able to play first, it's fine... as long as we play early I can still hang out with my friends afterward and be carefree and get drunk and/or stoned.
He's asking Teen Anger, the band from the other night who I LOVED, and The Barettas. Hopefully they both say yes... It'll be kind of neat because all of the bands will have at least one female member (me obviously having a vagina, Teen Anger's bass player is a female, and The Barettas are all women). What can I say, I fucking LOVE girls who play good music. Even though I try not to show it, I do have a bit of a "something to prove" attitude when it comes to women in heavier music (I'm not talking Lilith Fair here), since I've had to deal with SO many shitty attitudes from men on the subject in my years of being heavily involved in different music scenes.
Anyway, I'm hoping it all works out, because this should be one HELL of a killer bash.
