I'm almost finished with my third Patrick O'Brian novel about Captain Jack Aubrey and his buddy Stephen Maturin. Okay, okay I bought the first one because Russell Crowe was starring out at me from the cover and hey ...MASTER and COMMANDER.. whoa...anyway after I got through all the sea jargon, (what 's a fo c'sle anyhoo) I found that I really did enjoy it. I'd seen the movie, I'm a big Peter Weir fan. OBrian is terrific and I actually found the word effulgent used twice in the first one! So now I'm on H.M.S Surprise and I've got the fourth one ready to go when that's done.
