Hockey Update

For those of you that are not following Red Wings hockey something happened the other night that was very exciting. I think many of you will feel the same. At the end of 3 Periods and one five minute over time the score was still tied 3-3 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets. The first regular season shoot out ever for the Red Wings was about to take place in the Joe. Jaroslav Balastik skated out first for Columbus and went top shelf against Chris Osgood for a goal. Pavel Datsyuk answered right back by doing that thing he does with the puck and deeking out the goalie for a Red Wing goal. Rick Nash managed to get to the side of Ozzie but shot wide of the net. Jason Williams blazed in and blasted the puck past Pascal Leclaire to make it 2 shots to 1. Lastly columbus's Newest player began skating around center ice waiting for the whistle. The crowed Booed and Hissed because Detroit just hated this guy. Finally given the go ahead, Sergei Fedorov began taking the puck down to the goal. Chis Osgood cut off all the angles and forced a late shot which was easily stopped with a pad. Nice shot Sergei! Game - Detroit.

The best part about this is it's sports trivia worth information. the question would go something like this. In the first Red Wings shoot out, who blew it for the Columbus Blue Jackets to give Detroit the win? Answer: Sergei Fedorov
