Current mood: Disappointed

It all started with the llama. He'd dog out on plans with any one at any time except the girl he was dating. For some reason he seemed to think this was OK and acceptable. This behavior used to be seen as reprehensible and usually invoked a great deal of anger. Little by little it became more of a joke. "pulling a llama" meant skipping out no matter what the reason. But some how something that used to be understood as be indicative of being a poor friend has become common place. Going from "I can't make it because other plans are causing conflicts" or "I'm unable to drive that far out" have become "I don't feel like it." Dogging out on plans that people have specifically stated that they are going to be a part of is now the norm. And it's not because schedules are so busy but because people can no longer be bothered to keep their word on where they're going to be. Is it lack of respect for other? Taking your friends for granted? Some how thinking that you're owed a certain amount of entertainment before doing what you said you would is worth it? I don't know what it is but no matter the reason I'm disappointed and disgusted. I know I've missed plans. I've forgotten and I've had conflicts where I've had to pick one thing over another. But damn it NEVER do I say I'll do something and not do it ONLY because I no longer felt like it. Keeping your word is a measure of a person's character. Clearly many of you are found lacking!
