Let me ask - do you do a colour wash after your inks? I got myself in a terrible muddle about this the other day, it's been so long since I've done it. Doing a colour wash with watercolour over inks is usually fine, right? I started using gouache a bit and sometimes that obscures the inks a little... Painting in general always gets me confused, what with the details and lines coming last and all, I'm just not used to working in that direction!

Also - this looks great! I really like the bearded guy with the bottle, and the hand in the foreground.

Yeah watercolor looks great after inks, and you could also watercolor over pencils---and still erase the pencils; but not ink wash which makes all pencil fixed. With Gouache, you sometimes have to go back in and re-ink your lines, which is a pain. But yes! I ink my stuff first, but you could go either way really.

Also- This drawing simply never came together as a whole, there are bits I like, but overall it just falls apart.
