God I had the most fucked up dream I think I've ever had.
It was like a horror movie, a generic one but still. Basically there was a large group of people in the forest and one guy armed with a gun to keep them in line. It was part of a game where people who had wronged others would be punished. The trick was that noone knew who was part of the game in the group and who would be punished. Apart from the people actually part of the game of course, they'd know who they were.
One by one they were dealt ironic punishments such as one girl stabbing out the eyes of another for looking at her boyfriend (Hey I didn't say they'd commited great wrongs, just that the punisher felt they had). Their bodies were flung into a pit which slowly became filled with a lake of blood and bits of bodies. Only a small pit but a pit none the less.
Eventually all were killed including all but the leader of the game to reduce the witnesses and he left. Though it turned out there was one survivor.
Many years later another game was held by people who'd heard the legend but the main guy from the original wasn't involved. These guys were kind of homocidal army nuts so they were very much into the killing. With them though as part of t he punishers was the survivor of the original game.
Eventually everyone was punished again including some bow and arrorws, stabbings and slit throats before being flung into the pit. However, again there was one survivor, a girl this time with a stab wound to her stomach who hit amongst the bodies to avoid being killed proper.
The punishers left, the 3 army guys and the original survivor, after checking and reshooting all bodies in the pit to make sure. However the girl survivor remained and found a rushed door with a key in it in the wall of the pit which when unlocked lead to a buried kind of apartment. Empty but there. She thanked the body that had the key still gripped in his hand as he had tried to escape from the first game.
However the punishers heard the creek of the door and returned to check on it. They found the entrance door above the pit and barged their way down as the girl hid in the shower with the curtain pulled across and a shard of glass from the bathroom mirror in her hand. They searched but it was the survivor from the original game that found her. He left her alive and told the others that the place was empty. He then spouted a legend about the room bleeding that constantly opened the door and that it was probably just a fluke that the door opened as they were leaving.
They leave and the girl survives.
Over the years the second game survivors develop a drinking problem except the original game survivor who hangs around them slowly planning to gain his revenge on all people who instigate teh game. As they all go for a meal he accidentally bumps into the creator and punisher of the first game who now runs a restaurant of some kind. The original punisher thinks he recognises him but leaves anyway.
Over the course of the meal the alcoholic members who are now 'dry' try to drink unable to let go of the game but the original survivor prevents them from doing so attempting to ensure they stick to their sobriety for 'friendships' sake. Eventually he convinces them all to free themselves by killing the man who created the game.
Having seen this man he now knows where to find him and leads the group to him. They abduct him and others, starting a third game.
Many more people are killed until finally the original punisher is left. The original survivor kills the second game punishers and reveals who he is to the original punisher before crippling him and tossing him into the pit with the several dozen bodies and drying blood. He then buries the pit under tonnes of dirt, leaving the original punisher buried alive and then setting fire to the top of it all for whatever reason.
He then goes out and lives the rest of his life.
Hey he isn't a hero.
