I must admit the cookout exceeded by fairly low expectations. The band as well. I enjoyed the Elvis covers...though perhaps something slower as well, next time? I prefer to dance to slow songs ( Read more... )

Razer was great for such late notice!

Hey, you got a request in mind, put it in. Rocketbilly knows a ton of old songs...I mostly do a totally different style, but late,ly I've been really lovin' the stuff.

"...you saw me standing alone?"

[a bit of fumbling around for the Sitar, and he plucks and tunes for a moment before finding the right key, crooning playfully in an practice half-hearted, just-running-through-the-chord-cycles undertone.]

"Without a dream in my hear,
Without a love of my own-"

That one?

[a bit excited. Franzy likes old love songs!]

Yes, that one. That would be lovely if you could play it at the next concert.

Sure thing! Although we'd probably have to change it out to 'moons', for Discedo.

That could work, I suppose.

What else ya like?

Have you ever heard Raga, Agrabah-style? There's some fast and some slow...it's all up to the whim of the sitarrist, really. Pretty freeform, and you really get the full range of appreciating the sympathetic resonance that way.

Oh...I suppose I must admit to liking Juanes. I don't suppose you know Es Por Ti?

I've heard a few raga pieces before, but I'm afraid "Agrabah" doesn't ring a bell...but I'd be happy to listen, of course.

Ah...unfortunately, never heard of it. I'll have to run that by the band to see if any of them have.

No? It's a desert world pretty big on that stuff. They've got great street market bands and buskers there. Come up on the roof and listen sometime, while I'm on-duty.

I know a few of the chords. I suppose I could hum it for you...

Hm...perhaps I will.
