And now for something completely different ...

A single line of cello melody, the melody that has haunted my dreams since childhood, runs liltingly through my head. Cocooned with my roommate in our study den during finals week (and all the evil that muhi represents), I'm getting the urge to walk beneath the muffled stars. I just want to feel that possibility again, the feeling that anything can happen and shake the happy bubble so many of us live within.

So Judy and I are currently having our girl night and a computer party together, because the shows we adore (Gilmore Girls and Supernatural, so not comments from you males) happen to be re-runs. Sad face. Then again, Starbucks makes everything better, especially when taking a break from MuHi study.

I think being without my singing voice is the female equivalent to impotence for a guy. Of course, that brings about the inevitable comparison of creating art to creating life. Tonight I get to mention casually in conversation what should have been said long ago: wish me luck, or at least fortune's smiling favor. Yes, I confess the archaic language all comes back to me reading Lord of the Isles by David Drake again. A classic example of wizardry, romance, adventure, and singularity. For the record, I hate the way control over thoughts is possible during the day, but at night your imagination has free reign. And my imagination, dear friends, is incomparable. Like the voice in my dream last night: rich, masculine tones I only wish I could hear during the day. Yes, laugh all you want at my propensity to get voice crushes, even on imaginary voices.

So what do I really need right now (besides an end to the evil MuHi)? Some space from the bubble, some time for myself, some feeling that I'm appreciated. Oh, and some powerful elixir to produce dreamless sleep.
