Well!
I was judt woken up by the best customer service evAr! I about one month ago I bought some yarn for a project. When it finally came three weeks later it turned to to be not quite right. I mean it was yarn all right, but not the same texture and quality that this particular brand usually is. Unfortunately the site I ordered from doesn't take back yarn. It'll do and even exchange for the exact same stuff for defective yarn but I didn't want to get stuck with the same crap. If it was only a few skeins I would've chalked it up to Buyer Beware and given it to Goodwill. However it was 12 skeins. That's a little too much to pay for and not use. I sent the site an email telling them I was unhappy. They'll take it back and contact the manufacturer to see what's up. So I make up a few swatches with labels for comparison and send those back to the site yesterday. Today a rep from the manufactuer calls me to get my address so she can send me a SASE so I can send her a skein so she can investigate. I tell I'm sorry but I already mailed all of it back. She said that's okay, they're still going to send me 12 skeins to replace the bad yarn. Wow, I haven't had customer service like that in almost forever! =)
For the curious,
Here is where it all went down. I got black TLC Essentials from DiscountYarnSale.com
On further reflection, with the shipping charges all added up, I wouldn't have saved very much by going to JoAnn. But they are always sold out of what I want. The Universe lives to thwart me. Coates and Clarke send me yarn to make up for it.
