On Sunday morning, Charlie had then gone to Hogwarts, and spoken to McGonagall, explaining that they wanted to take Ginny out for her birthday, and managed to convince the Headmistress to let both Ginny and Harry leave the school. He had then gone to let them know about that night. Finally, he sent several patronus asking all of his brothers (and ( Read more... )

Oliver and Fred apparated to the alleyway and walked into the restaurant. They didn't wait to be seated. By now the gathering of red hair had grown and they had no trouble spotting them. Oliver held Fred's hand as they walked to the table.

"The party can start now. We're here," he said, grinning. He tugged on Ginny's hair and jumped back as she swatted at him. "Happy Birthday, twerp."

George and Katie popped into the alleyway just as Fred and Oliver walked out. George grabbed Katie's hand and they followed the other twosome into the restaurant.

"No, NOW the party can start!" George retorted with amusement.

"Happy birthday, favorite sister!" George said to Ginny as he wrapped her in a huge bear hug.

Ginny tried to glare at Oliver but failed as George's arms closed around her. "Hey, beautiful." She tilted her face up to kiss him. "How are you? And Katie! I'm so glad you came." She turned and knelt up on her seat to hug Katie and kiss her cheek.

Katie laughed softly, hugging Ginny as well. "Yeah, looks like we're a little outnumbered." She pulled out her present and offered it to Ginny, winking. "Because I was sure the boys wouldn't get you any of this."

Ginny took the present and sat down. "Sit, guys. We can order now that we're all here." She opened Katie's present and grinned. "Thank you! No, the boys wouldn't give me makeup, and if they did I'd be scared to wear it for fear of what it would do to me. And chocolate. You do know what I like. It's good to have another girl here. The testosterone was about to overwhelm me."

Katie laughed a little again. "Yeah, I figured you could use the back up when George told me who was coming," she said with a small grin at the surrounding people. "I knew, but still...wow, seriously. Talk about testosterone!"

"C'mon now! You know you love us, well, me at least, eh?"

George winked.

"And, no. I didn't come empty-handed." George pulled out a small box and handed it to Ginny. He hoped she liked the necklace that was inside - silver with a protection rune George had personally inscribed and charmed.

Ginny giggled at Katie's comment. "I know, they really are something. But I love all of them. With the possible exception of Wood here." She winked at him. "But even he is growing on me."

She smiled up at George. "You could have come empty handed. I love you." She smiled and pulled the ribbon off the box, gasping as she opened it. "Oh George, it's beautiful. Thank you!" She threw her arms around his neck and held on.

George hugged her back.

"I'm glad you like it. It's got a protection charm built in - a Georgie special - all you need to do is press the center."

George hoped it was something she would wear all the time, if only to give him some slight peace of mind.

"I'll never take it off," she whispered against his neck. "I love it. And you. Thank you, love." She pulled back and kissed him. "And I'm glad you brought Katie. She's right, I do need the back up."

Katie grinned. "Yeah, okay, granted. I do love you, and I love Ginny so I guess that all makes being here worthwhile." She glanced at Ginny then grinned at Oliver. "I know, he does that, doesn't he?" She joked before taking a sip of water.

Fred had been standing a bit off to the side, watching the interplay between Harry, Charlie, Terence and Oliver. He snapped back to reality and moved to wrap his arms around George looking over his shoulder at Ginny. "I remember you, vaguely. You're related to me, yeah?" Fred then grinned at his sister. "Happy Birthday, Red."

Ginny leaned up to kiss him over George's shoulder. "Hey, baby. I knew I was missing something." She grinned and bounced a bit. "I'm glad you're here. Both of you. And I'm even sort of halfway glad you brought Oliver." She kissed him again. "Kidding. I really am glad."

George hugged his twin back.

"Last time I checked, unless you switched out my DNA in my sleep, brother!"

George appraised the group at the table with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"Wow, we really know how to attract quite the diverse crowd here, between Wood, Higgs, Katie and Harry with the rest of us, eh? Hmmm, who needs some 'special' attention from us, Fred?"

Fred reached out to ruffle Ginny's hair. "Where he goes I go. Package deal and you wait 'til you see what we brought you."

Fred poked George. "I think, brother dear, that the possibilities are endless. We should start with Charlie, I think, since he's making comments."

"Oh, is he now?" George raised a single eyebrow in response.

"Well, let's see - we could turn him into a bouquet of flowers for Terrence for a a couple minutes? It'll be easy enough to have our charming server slip it to him in the cocktail we order for him, yes?"
