Theodore had given in to impulse and gone home after meeting Weasley Female by the lake. He’d taken the safety off the dueling dummy and had subsequently spent several hours in simulated combat. When he emerged from the dungeon, bruised and slightly bloody, he had felt infinitely better.
Sleeping through class hadn’t been on the agenda, but when a house elf brought breakfast to the downstairs lounge he had stretched, smiled and directed it to take the food to the garden. A hot shower and a leisurely repast had improved his mood further. He’d spent the rest of the morning answering business correspondence, culminating in a fire call to his solicitor which resulted in an appointment.
The meeting had been interminable. The foreman of the family lumber holdings was undoubtedly embezzling and needed to be ‘dealt with’. Theodore yanked at his collar as he stepped out into the sunlit bustle of Diagon Alley. He had absolutely no experience with such things. It was late afternoon. Nothing could be done today, at any rate. With a shrug and a final tug at his formal robe, Theo decided to wander through a some shops. Hogwarts could wait for a few more hours.
