Narcissa frowned, brushing the feathered end of her quill back and forth over her chin. Choosing just the right words took careful consideration, and the stakes of this particular game were high.

She was going to be busy over the next few days; she'd already sent out two invitations for lunch and tea later that day and a third for lunch the next. A few thinly-veiled hints in the ears of the matriarchs of three of the older families in the area would do wonders, and in all honesty she wouldn't mind the distraction of a rather more crowded social schedule than had been the norm of late. It would keep her mind off of those things it needed to be kept off.

She had saved this message for last, and it took a good deal of her cunning to work the mention of Andromeda's daughter and her inappropriate affection for the werewolf into what appeared to be a light and chatty note. Still, when she finished she was pleased with the results. The addressee was well-placed in London society and held no good opinion of either Aurors or Dark creatures--not that anyone of Narcissa's acquaintance did.

Laying her quill aside, she leaned back in her chair and rubbed the back of her neck with one palm. She'd done what she could do, and now it only remained to wait.
