I thought i saw you riding a bike on wednesday though campus... but you passed by too quickly!
Dreams for me a much more real, and carry me through a wider range of emotions than daily life does. That's because my life is so damn boring. Yet stressful. The only way to cope with real life is to numb out the stress with apathy.
that is true! dreams are really capable of making you feel emotionally unstable, and make you wake up in shock, sweating... or if pleasant, one of those that you won't stop thinking about for a while. have you guyz ever felt yourself changing your opinion on someone or something just because of a dream? I wonder if its just your subconcious expressing things in your mind... or if it's some sort of warning or enlightment
i don't know how you dream Clem, but when i dream i am more emotionally stable. i've never changed my opinion about a person because of a dream. but i have changed my perspectives on my future from dreaming. i think dreaming is a way of understanding yourself at a subconscious level - like you said. but most of the time, i feel as though reality is but a dream, and the dream world is more of a reality.
interesting point... since subconscious deals with all your fears, or all that junk that you know is there. People really act superficially to ignore the fact that certain things are there. It might be true to say that dreams are reality, while what we live in is a dream... I guess I meant unstable in the sense that sometimes things come in a way that it just doesn't make sense to the logic mind. Also, the whole having people around you, that you thought you could trust just being nice or mean to you to an extreme.... that kinda stuff shakes you up when you wake up from the dream
Yes, I have definitely changed my opinion of people because of dreams, at least for the next few days. It brings reality into focus. But you have to be careful sometimes because I have had wacked dreams where my friends and family did all these horrible things to me, and obviously that is my own fear and not in the least bit true... so it is wise to realize this as some sort of repressed fear or guilt rather than being angry at your friends/family for the next few days...
