Friday night, after having a dinner at an Indian restaurant and then making myself throw up due to bulimic tendencies, my friends and i went to get some ice cream at the local McDonalds. on the way there, i was idly flicking my knife back and forth. it was a gift from my brother for my 19th birthday. i treasure the present so. when we arrived at McDs, two police officers approached me on both sides of the street and started yelling. before i could make out what they were saying, i was handcuffed. "you are placed under arrested for the possession of an offensive weapon. anything you say or do can be used against you in the court of law." before i knew it, i was detained and taken to the police station. there i was handled and inquisitioned. i prayed the entire time, to Mary the Virgin...using the knuckles of my hand as a rosary, for they departed me from every single object i was carrying. it was my refuge, for i was filled with trepidation. the experience was quite bewildering for its perfectly legal to carry pocket knives in the US. anyways, they took my fingerprints, a photo and samples of my DNA by swabbing the insides of my mouth. they gave me a warning and i was free to go. i had a problem, i didn't know how to get back to the college from this part of town. luckily, Dr. O'Brien was at the police station, awaiting my release. for you see, my noble friends had ran back to the college and with fury and wild passion, told the professors what had happen. my friends wanted to call the US embassy and wanted to raid the police station. i was very shocked with their temperament. how loyal they are to me! it was very touching, albeit inane.
