OK, short of the handheld market, Nintendo has really been loosing ground in the whole console market.
First with passing on the cd add on for the Super Nintendo that Sony was working on that would end up eventually evolving into the Playstation.
Then the choise to keep using cartrige with the Nintendo 64 which lowered pirating, but led to higher cost in the production of the games and lack of space for developers to work with.
Then came the Gamecube that used a special disk format that was still smaller than a DVD limiting devopers and lacking an online element and general lack of 3rd party support.
Then they've been talking about the new system, the "Revolution". While not top of the line in specs or the newer high def standards, it would be able to run emulators onboard for all of thier fanbase who wanted to play older games that made Nintendo the name that it is and allows for the downloading of these games. Nice for the Nintendo diehard fans.
Then they showed the controler that resembles a tv remote more than a contoler. There were lots of WTF's about it, but it would have motion sensors and actually be more immersive of an experience, hey, you think, look at the DS handheld, innovation... this might work, worth at least trying out.
Then Nintendo has officially killed it. They finally released what will be the final retail name for the console project named "Revolution"....
"Wii"
Yes kids, Wii, pronounced "wee".
Don't you think Nintendo has been pissing on it's customers enough that they have to call their new console after it?
*Sigh*
At least it should do well in Germany and R Kelly will support it.
